David Lyons vs John Pyper

Boxing Daily Report from the Montreal's Top Gym promoted show at Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles,  taking place on 01/06/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are David Lyons (0 - 0) who hails from Chicago, USA and John Pyper(6 - 21(1) - 2) from Columbus, USA.  Lyons weighed in at 129 pounds and 7 ounces, while Pyper weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Dillon Downey, and the three ringside judges are Edward Fernandez, Amon Scroggie and Kieran Farm.  

Round 1: 

Lyons is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  Lyons wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Pyper dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Lyons advances into close range.  Lyons leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Pyper accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Lyons.  
Pyper pivots to the side of his opponent.  Lyons tries to land a left uppercut, but Pyper blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Pyper throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Lyons finds the target with a hard jab.  
Lyons closes the distance and drives a right hook into Pyper's body.  Lyons clinches his opponent.  Lyons is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Lyons advances into close range.  Pyper pivots from in front of his opponent.  Pyper throws a left hook, but Lyons holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks Lyons's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Pyper pivots to the side of his opponent.  Lyons digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Lyons gets on the inside and throws a left hook, but his opponent avoids the punch.  Lyons holds on to his opponent.  Lyons leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Lyons gets on the inside.  Pyper pivots to the side of his opponent.  Lyons lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Lyons lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Lyons is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Pyper circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Lyons is on target with a ramrod jab.  
Lyons is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Lyons holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Lyons pushes his forearm into Pyper's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Lyons.

Pyper sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Lyons lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.  
Lyons advances into close range and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Lyons tries to keep the action at long range and lands a spiteful jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Lyons's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Pyper's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Pyper's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Pyper's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Pyper pivots to the side of his opponent.  Lyons is on target with a left uppercut to Pyper's body.  
Lyons throws a right hook, but the shot is blocked.  Lyons ties up his opponent.  Lyons is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Lyons drives a potent left hook into Pyper's body.  IT LOOKS LIKE PYPER WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Lyons senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Pyper and just needs the right shot.  Lyons lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body, AND PYPER IS DOWN!  He manages to get up at 6.  It looks like Pyper has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Lyons advances into close range.  Pyper quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Lyons lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Pyper pivots to the left of his opponent.  Lyons lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left uppercut to the head.

Pyper sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Pyper attempts to land a right hook, but Lyons slips the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.

Lyons is looking to close the distance and crashes a mean left hook to Pyper's body.  PYPER IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 7.

Pyper pivots to the side of his opponent.  Pyper throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Lyons lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Pyper quickly recovers. 
Lyons lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  He then lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head, DROPPING PYPER TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 7.  
Lyons hits home with a right uppercut.  
Lyons is looking to close the distance and drives a left hook into Pyper's body.  
Pyper is looking to keep his distance.  Lyons connects with a sharp cross.
