Felix Samson vs Marlon Bastien

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Bell Centre, Montreal,  taking place on 03/08/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Canada Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Felix Samson (12(8) - 0) who hails from Montreal, Canada and Marlon Bastien(23(3) - 15(8)) from Gaineau, Canada.  Samson weighed in at 147 pounds, while Bastien weighed in at 146 pounds And 15 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Erec Adore, and the three ringside judges are Henry Popkin, Johnny Smith and Phil Pearce.  

Round 1: 

Bastien tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Bastien tries to keep the action at long range and tries to land a jab, but Samson sidesteps and counters with a sharp cross.

Bastien cuts off the ring, trapping Samson on the ropes.  Samson hits the target with a spiteful jab.  
Bastien lands a double jab to his opponents head.  Bastien throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a CRUSHING right hook.  BASTIEN IS HURT!  Bastien almost instantly gets his legs back.

Bastien throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Samson steps to the outside.  Samson sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a solid overhand right.  
Bastien lands a jab followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Bastien walks Samson onto the ropes.  Samson is on target with a stiff jab.  
Samson feints a left hook, and then lands an overhand right.  
Samson is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a ramrod jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Samson's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Bastien's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Samson lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Bastien lands with a stinging jab.  
Samson connects with a cross.  
Samson feints a left hook, but Bastien is not fooled and responds with a cross.  
Bastien forces Samson to retreat onto the ropes.  Samson lands a cross to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Bastien recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Samson lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Bastien attempts to land a jab, but Samson dodges the shot and counters with a stinging right uppercut.  
Samson pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a cross followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Samson feints a right hook, and then tries to land a cross, but Bastien slips the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Bastien lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Bastien walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Samson hits home with a ramrod jab.  
Samson steps to the outside.  Bastien lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  Bastien tries to land a jab, but Samson slips the shot and counters with a stinging left hook.  
Samson lands two jab's to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Samson lands an overhand left followed by a jab to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Samson sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Samson lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a double left hook to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES BASTIEN!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  Bastien now seems to have his senses back.  
Samson finds the target with a ramrod jab.  Samson throws an overhand left, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm cross.  
Bastien attempts to land a jab, but Samson slips the shot and counters with a sharp cross.  
Samson tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a spiteful jab.  
Samson sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Bastien throws an overhand right, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Bastien walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Bastien pivots from in front of his opponent.  Samson is on target with a FEROCIOUS cross.  BASTIEN WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Samson is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Samson lands two left hooks followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND BASTIEN IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Samson!
