Blake Hettrick vs Mike Gowen

Boxing Daily Report from the AI New Zealand-Canterbury promoted show at Christchurch Ngakaho, Christchurch,  taking place on 01/07/2041:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the New Zealand-Canterbury Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Blake Hettrick (13 - 15 - 3 - 1(NC)) who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand and Mike Gowen(19(2) - 12(1)) from Christchurch, New Zealand.  Both Hettrick and Gowen weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Tobias Vert, and the three ringside judges are Dave Pera, Stephen Suite and Dave Sprouse.  

Round 1:

Hettrick throws a right hook, but Gowen clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Gowen pushes his forearm into Hettrick's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Gowen about fouling.  
Gowen sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a left hook into his opponents liver.  
The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Gowen dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Gowen.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
