John Poyner vs Dave Gilmour

Boxing Daily Report from the Bos Firefighters promoted show at Hialeah Chirino, Hialeah,  taking place on 06/07/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Florida Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are John Poyner (6 - 6 - 5) who hails from Jacksonville, USA and Dave Gilmour(34(27) - 17(13) - 1) from Cape Coral, USA.  Both Poyner and Gilmour weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Eduardo Liberato, and the three ringside judges are Daniel Ruthven, Paul Romans and Vince Wood.  

Round 1: 

Gilmour advances into close range.  Gilmour pivots to the right of his opponent.  Poyner throws a left hook, but Gilmour clinches his opponent.  Gilmour pushes his forearm into Poyner's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Gilmour about fouling.  
Gilmour pivots to the side of his opponent.  Gilmour lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Gilmour clinches his opponent.  Gilmour leans on his opponent using all his weight. Poyner tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Gilmour behind the head. Poyner uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Gilmour behind the head. The ref breaks Gilmour's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Gilmour lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Gilmour sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Gilmour pivots to the left of his opponent.  Gilmour lands a stinging right hook.  Gilmour clinches his opponent.  Gilmour throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Gilmour is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. As they grapple, Poyner pushes his forearm into Gilmour's face.  The referee warns Poyner and breaks the clinch.  
Poyner steps to the outside.  Gilmour lands an overhand right, jab and an overhand right to his opponents head.  
Poyner tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Gilmour pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Gilmour hits home with a left hook.  
Gilmour walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Gilmour connects with a right hook.  
Gilmour pivots to the left of his opponent and hits home with a firm right hook.  
Gilmour pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Gilmour drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Gilmour pivots to the right of his opponent.  Gilmour lands two left hooks followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  Gilmour ties up his opponent.  Gilmour is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Gilmour throws a right uppercut, but his opponent steps away from the shot.  Gilmour clinches his opponent.  Gilmour leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Gilmour lands a right uppercut to the head, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Gilmour pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a stinging right hook.  
Gilmour lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.

Gilmour closes the distance and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Gilmour quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and DETONATES a MASSIVE left uppercut on his opponents face.  POYNER IS HURT!  
Gilmour thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Poyner away.  Gilmour lands a left hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right uppercut followed by  two straights to his opponents head, AND DROPS POYNER TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 9.  Poyner now seems to have got his legs back.  
Gilmour pivots to the right of his opponent and connects with a stinging right hook.  
Gilmour lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Gilmour lands a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Poyner's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Poyner's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Gilmour gets on the inside and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS POYNER DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  Gilmour ties up his opponent.  Gilmour is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  Poyner quickly recovers. 
Poyner throws a left hook, but Gilmour holds on to his opponent.  Gilmour leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Gilmour lands a solid left hook.  Gilmour ties up his opponent.  Poyner tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Gilmour behind the head. 
Poyner lands a right hook.  
Gilmour drives a left hook into his opponents liver.  
Gilmour lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Gilmour lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.
