Pancho Poma vs Diego Rodriguez

Boxing Daily Report from the The New Pearls Boxing promoted show at Havana Cotta, Havana,  taking place on 14/07/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Cuba Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Pancho Poma (18(7) - 5(3)) who hails from Holguin, Cuba and Diego Rodriguez(13 - 8(1) - 5) from Havana, Cuba.  Poma weighed in at 153 pounds and 12 ounces, while Rodriguez weighed in at 153 pounds and 2 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Luis Sanchez, and the three ringside judges are Sancho Luiz, Desiderio Villavicencio and Rodrigo Llamas.  

Round 1: 

Poma sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Poma attempts to land a cross, but Rodriguez blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Poma is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a cross.  
Rodriguez gets on the inside.  Poma pivots to the right of his opponent.  Poma is on target with a sharp right hook to Rodriguez's ribs.  Poma holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Poma pushes his forearm into Rodriguez's face.  The referee warns Poma and breaks the clinch.  
Poma lands a stinging overhand left.  
Rodriguez sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Poma finds the target with a jab.  
Rodriguez is looking to close the distance and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Rodriguez throws a left hook, but Poma clinches his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Poma tries to keep the action at long range and lands a spiteful jab.  
Poma feints a jab, tricking Rodriguez into launching a cross counter.  Poma is waiting for the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Poma hits the target with a ramrod jab.  
Poma is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
Poma circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Rodriguez lands a left uppercut.  
Poma lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Poma sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a solid cross.  
Poma switches the action to the outside and lands an overhand left followed by a jab to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Poma thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Rodriguez away.  Poma DETONATES a FEROCIOUS cross on his opponents face.  RODRIGUEZ IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Rodriguez now seems to have his senses back.  
Poma steps away from his opponent.  Poma is keeping his hands low...it looks like he wants his opponent to throw first.  Rodriguez throws an overhand right, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Poma waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Rodriguez hits home with a cross.  Rodriguez attempts to land a cross, but Poma sidesteps and counters with a firm left hook.  
Poma steps to the outside and lands an overhand right.  
Rodriguez circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Poma drives a firm left hook into his opponents body.  
Rodriguez forces Poma to back into the corner.  Rodriguez feints a left, and then throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Rodriguez advances into close range.  Poma hits home with a left hook.  
Poma lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Rodriguez's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Rodriguez's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Rodriguez's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Poma tries to keep the action at long range and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Poma attempts to land a jab, but Rodriguez blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Rodriguez lands a cross.  
Poma lands with a stiff jab.  
Rodriguez steps inside.  Poma lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Rodriguez recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Poma is looking to keep his distance and lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Poma sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands an overhand left, jab and a cross to his opponents head.  
Poma sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Rodriguez throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a CRUSHING left uppercut.  RODRIGUEZ WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Rodriguez recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Poma lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Poma lands a jab followed by  two overhand rights to his opponents head, AND DROPS RODRIGUEZ TO THE CANVAS!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Poma!
