Ellis Bateman vs Rex Cumby

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Wisconsin promoted show at Madison Hamell, Madison,  taking place on 05/09/2041:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Wisconsin Super Featherweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ellis Bateman (19(6) - 7(2)) who hails from Milwaukee, USA and Rex Cumby(8 - 8(2) - 6) from Madison, USA.  Both Bateman and Cumby weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is John Peart, and the three ringside judges are Rex Applegarth, Ethan McKenna and Sid MacLaine.  

Round 1: 

Bateman steps inside and lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Bateman dabs at his face checking for damage.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Bateman.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
