Carlos Lona vs Leonel Valera

Boxing Daily Report from the Shakalongo Promotions promoted show at Dimos Bejar Gym, Barquisimeto,  taking place on 07/09/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Venezuela-Lara Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Carlos Lona (6 - 7 - 2) who hails from Barquisimeto, Venezuela and Leonel Valera(6 - 24 - 5) from Barquisimeto, Venezuela.  Both Lona and Valera weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Rodrigo Gomez, and the three ringside judges are Vicente Rengel, Diego Penaloza and Eloy Llerena.  

Round 1: 

Lona hits home with a cross.

Lona steps inside.  Lona sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Valera dabs at his face checking for damage.
