John Ross vs Jay Nicolson

Boxing Daily Report from the Granite Chin Promotions promoted show at Surprise Stadium, Surprise,  taking place on 20/09/2041:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are John Ross (15(11) - 1(1)) who hails from Mesa, USA and Jay Nicolson(32(14) - 14(4)) from Irvine, USA.  Both Ross and Nicolson weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Clinton Caleb, and the three ringside judges are Rob Tarbet, Zachary Davies and Callum Pareja.  

Round 1: 

Ross tries to keep the action at long range.  Nicolson connects with a stinging cross.  
Nicolson gets on the inside and lands a firm left hook.

Nicolson gets on the inside.  Ross pivots to the left of his opponent.  Ross tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a solid left hook.
