Noah Shiels vs Jay Costain

Boxing Daily Report from the Simasiku Promotions promoted show at Manukau Freebairn, Manukau,  taking place on 11/11/2021:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Oceania Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Prime, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Noah Shiels (6 - 3 - 1) who hails from Manukau, New Zealand and Jay Costain(8 - 1) from Waitakere, New Zealand.  Shiels weighed in at 168 pounds, while Costain weighed in at 167 pounds and 6 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Chris Kellie, and the three ringside judges are Chris Booth, Alec Brisbane and Hamahona Kurawhatia.  

Round 1: 

Shiels lands a jab.  
Costain gets on the inside and manouvers Shiels onto the ropes.  Costain pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Shiels steps away from his opponent.  Costain lowers his hands, trying to provoke his opponent to attack.  Shiels drives a cross into Costain's body.  
Costain closes the distance and lands a stinging right hook.  
Costain steps inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Shiels is looking to keep the action on the outside and tries to land a jab, but Costain slips the shot and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Costain closes the distance.  Costain quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Costain tries to step out of his opponents range and connects with a sharp overhand right.  
Shiels sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Costain lands a left uppercut.  
Costain lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Shiels throws a left hook, but Costain holds on to his opponent.  Costain is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Costain to stop fouling.
