Goro Kawakami vs Fumio Ichikawa

Boxing Daily Report from the Hayabusa Promotions promoted show at Ichiro Tao Gym, Kyoto,  taking place on 25/09/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Kyoto Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Goro Kawakami (1 - 5 - 1) who hails from Kyoto, Japan and Fumio Ichikawa(8 - 8(1) - 3) from Kyoto, Japan.  Kawakami weighed in at 220 pounds and 1 ounces, while Ichikawa weighed in at 228 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Kazuhiko Ozawa, and the three ringside judges are Naoki Kawasaki, Takeo Imada and Michi Yamamoto.  

Round 1: 

Ichikawa walks Kawakami down, trapping him in a corner.  Ichikawa feints a right hook, and then connects with a cross.  
Ichikawa steps inside.  Kawakami connects with a left hook.  Kawakami throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Ichikawa time to recover.
