Chris Doherty vs David Garey

Boxing Daily Report from the Jaromir Dobroniecki promoted show at Hialeah Park Racing & Casino, Hialeah,  taking place on 16/12/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Chris Doherty (12(5) - 1) who hails from Melbourne, Australia and David Garey(29 - 17(4) - 5) from Tucson, USA.  Doherty weighed in at 125 pounds and 7 ounces, while Garey weighed in at 126 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sam Matteson, and the three ringside judges are Dale Salvatierra, Charles Griffiths and Cody Grant.  

Round 1: 

Doherty digs in a firm right hook to Garey's ribs.  
Doherty advances into close range and manages to force Garey onto the ropes.  Doherty lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  Doherty clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Doherty pushes his forearm into Garey's face.  The referee warns Doherty and breaks the clinch.  
Doherty gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Doherty lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Doherty walks Garey down, trapping him on the ropes.  Doherty lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents head.  Doherty holds on to his opponent.  Doherty is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Doherty closes the distance.  Doherty sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a left uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body, AND KNOCKS GAREY DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  Garey quickly recovers. 
Doherty gets on the inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Doherty holds on to his opponent.  Doherty is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Doherty's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Doherty lands a left hook to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Garey throws a left hook, but Doherty ties up his opponent.  Doherty is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Doherty's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Doherty lands a cross to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Doherty steps inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Doherty lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Garey almost instantly recovers. 
Doherty walks Garey onto the ropes.  Doherty drives a stinging right hook into Garey's body.  
Doherty lands a left uppercut to the head followed by two left hook's to the body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Garey's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Garey's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Garey's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Doherty manouvers Garey onto the ropes.  Doherty sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Doherty lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Doherty lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Doherty is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Doherty lands with a ramrod jab.  
Doherty advances into close range and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Doherty lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Garey quickly recovers.

Doherty leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Doherty's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Doherty steps inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body, AND GAREY IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Doherty!
