Daniel Flanagan vs Aidan Hopkins

Boxing Daily Report from the Iain Llewellyn promoted show at Iain Gym, Limerick,  taking place on 14/10/2041:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Daniel Flanagan (1 - 1) who hails from Dublin, Ireland and Aidan Hopkins(2 - 1) from Leicester, UK.  Flanagan weighed in at 160 pounds, while Hopkins weighed in at 159 pounds and 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Jason Ayrton, and the three ringside judges are Evan Mohan, Conor McCrory and Evan Mohan.  

Round 1: 

Flanagan lands a jab.  
Flanagan hits home with a stinging overhand right.

Hopkins steps inside and lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Flanagan recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Hopkins steps inside.  Flanagan throws a left hook, but Hopkins ties up his opponent.  Hopkins tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Flanagan's kidney. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Hopkins.  
Flanagan lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Hopkins steps inside and lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Hopkins manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Hopkins quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and drives a stinging left hook into his opponents body.  
Flanagan steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand right.  
Hopkins is looking to close the distance and connects with a right hook.  Hopkins throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Flanagan lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Hopkins closes the distance and manouvers Flanagan onto the ropes.  Hopkins lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Flanagan lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Flanagan connects with a left uppercut.  
Flanagan steps to the outside and attempts to land a cross, but Hopkins sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Flanagan lands a jab.  
Hopkins closes the distance and is on target with a telling left hook to his opponents liver.  FLANAGAN IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  
Hopkins manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Hopkins pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  
Hopkins is on target with a sharp left hook to Flanagan's body.

Hopkins gets on the inside.  Hopkins quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Hopkins tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Hopkins walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Hopkins lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Hopkins knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  Hopkins lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right uppercut to the body, AND KNOCKS FLANAGAN DOWN!  He manages to get up at 7.  Flanagan now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Hopkins lands a cross to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Flanagan recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Hopkins is looking to close the distance and slams a spiteful right hook into his opponents ribcage.  FLANAGAN WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Flanagan almost instantly recovers. 
Flanagan throws a left uppercut, but Hopkins clinches his opponent.  Hopkins pushes his forearm into Flanagan's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Flanagan throws a left hook, but Hopkins holds on to his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Hopkins digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Hopkins is on target with a firm left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  
Flanagan is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a solid jab.  
Hopkins closes the distance and walks Flanagan down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Hopkins connects with a sharp right uppercut.  
Flanagan tries to step out of his opponents range and lands an overhand left followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Flanagan tries to keep the action at long range and hits home with an overhand left.  
Flanagan lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Flanagan throws an overhand right, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp right uppercut.  
Hopkins digs in a solid left hook to Flanagan's body.  
Hopkins steps inside.  Flanagan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Hopkins is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  Hopkins tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.

Flanagan hits home with an overhand left.  Flanagan attempts to land an overhand right, but Hopkins slips the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
Hopkins cuts off the ring, trapping Flanagan on the ropes.  Hopkins pivots to the left of his opponent and slams a nasty left uppercut into Flanagan's body.  IT LOOKS LIKE FLANAGAN WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Hopkins is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Hopkins lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a left hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body, AND KNOCKS FLANAGAN DOWN!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Hopkins!
