Charlie Akre vs Geoff Maren

Boxing Daily Report from the Top Shelf Prospects promoted show at Edwards Hall, Miami,  taking place on 21/12/2041:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are The Cardinal Charlie Akre (15(13) - 0) who hails from St. Louis, USA and Geoff Maren(13(4) - 3 - 1) from Philadelphia, USA.  Both Akre and Maren weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joshua Vara, and the three ringside judges are Fraser Vail, Rob Crumb and Dave Gilfillan.  

Round 1: 

Akre feints a cross, and then lands a stiff jab.

Akre waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Maren attempts to land a jab, but Akre sidesteps and counters with a firm left hook to his opponents liver.  
Akre steps away from his opponent and lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Akre finds the target with a jab.  
Maren is on target with a left hook to Akre's body.  
Akre steps to the outside.  Akre feints a right hook, and then finds the target with a jab.  
Akre lands a jab to the head, an overhand right to the head and a jab to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Maren almost instantly gets his legs back. 
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Maren's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Maren's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Akre pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head, AND KNOCKS MAREN DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 8.  
Akre lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Akre stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  Akre whips in a DEVASTATING right uppercut to Maren's ribcage.  MAREN IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  THE REF STOPS THE FIGHT!  HE DOES NOT BELIEVE MAREN CAN CONTINUE!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Akre!
