James Covarrubias vs Bryan Donnelly

Boxing Daily Report from the Plunder Boxing promoted show at SECC Hall, Glasgow,  taking place on 04/11/2041:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Premier Sports, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are James Covarrubias (2(2) - 0) who hails from Zamboanga City, Philippines and Bryan Donnelly(7 - 10 - 2) from Watford, UK.  Covarrubias weighed in at 104 pounds and 11 ounces, while Donnelly weighed in at 105 pounds and 8 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Peter Cullen, and the three ringside judges are William Cooper, David Hall and Hamish McBeth.  

Round 1: 

Covarrubias gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Covarrubias is on target with a jab.  
Covarrubias advances into close range and lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Covarrubias holds on to his opponent.  Covarrubias pushes his forearm into Donnelly's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Donnelly almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Covarrubias gets on the inside.  Donnelly sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Covarrubias lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Covarrubias holds on to his opponent.  Covarrubias pushes his forearm into Donnelly's face.  The referee warns Covarrubias and breaks the clinch.  
Covarrubias connects with a firm right uppercut.  
Donnelly switches the action to the outside.  Covarrubias lands a firm overhand right.  
Covarrubias steps inside and lands a right uppercut to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Covarrubias holds on to his opponent.  Covarrubias leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  Donnelly quickly recovers. 
Donnelly steps to the outside.  Covarrubias lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Donnelly quickly recovers. 
Covarrubias advances into close range and is on target with a left hook.  
Covarrubias closes the distance and connects with a left hook.  Covarrubias clinches his opponent.  Covarrubias leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Covarrubias lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Covarrubias connects with a cross.  
Covarrubias is on target with a sharp left uppercut.  Covarrubias ties up his opponent.  Covarrubias leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Covarrubias uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Donnelly's kidney. 
Covarrubias walks Donnelly into a neutral corner.  Covarrubias is on target with a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Covarrubias lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Donnelly tries to step out of his opponents range.  Covarrubias lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  He then lands an overhand right followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Covarrubias is looking to close the distance and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Covarrubias clinches his opponent.  Covarrubias leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Covarrubias steps inside and slams a hurtful left uppercut into Donnelly's body.  DONNELLY WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Covarrubias knows Donnelly is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Covarrubias lands a left hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents body, AND KNOCKS DONNELLY DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 6.  It looks like Donnelly has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Covarrubias connects with a hurtful right uppercut.  DONNELLY WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Covarrubias forces Donnelly to retreat onto the ropes.  Some sustained pressure from Covarrubias could be enough to finish Donnelly!  Covarrubias SLAMS a VICIOUS right hook into his opponents face.  DONNELLY IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 7.  Donnelly now seems to have his senses back.  
Covarrubias lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Covarrubias is on target with a solid left hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Donnelly's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Donnelly's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Covarrubias is looking to close the distance.  Covarrubias is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Covarrubias lands a cross followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS DONNELLY DOWN!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Covarrubias!
