Matthew Sean vs Daniel McCathern

Boxing Daily Report from the Don Kingahan promoted show at Paul Cochrane Gym, Dublin,  taking place on 14/12/2041:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Irish Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Eurosport Ireland, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Matthew Sean (47(30) - 16(3) - 2) who hails from Dundalk, Ireland and Daniel McCathern(21 - 16(2) - 4) from Cork, Ireland.  Sean weighed in at 121 pounds and 12 ounces, while McCathern weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Billy Ruane, and the three ringside judges are Roy Spalding, Rob Nesmith and Leon McPeters.  

Round 1: 

McCathern feints a left hook, and then finds the target with a jab.  
Sean gets on the inside.  McCathern sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Sean crashes a hurtful right hook to McCathern's body.  MCCATHERN IS HURT!  Sean ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Sean pushes his forearm into McCathern's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Sean to stop fouling.  McCathern almost instantly recovers. 
McCathern lands a jab.  
Sean steps inside.  McCathern throws a left hook, but Sean ties up his opponent.  Sean leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
McCathern throws a right hook, but Sean holds on to his opponent.  Sean leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
McCathern pivots from in front of his opponent.  Sean lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  McCathern recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Sean lands a left hook.  Sean holds on to his opponent.  Sean leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  McCathern has taken some damage there.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Sean whips in a nasty left hook to his opponents ribs.  MCCATHERN IS HURT!  McCathern recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Sean lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
McCathern quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Sean lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Sean clinches his opponent.  Sean leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Sean cuts off the ring, trapping McCathern in the corner.  Sean lands a left uppercut, left hook and a left uppercut to his opponents body, DROPPING MCCATHERN TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  McCathern quickly recovers. 
Sean lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Sean holds on to his opponent.  McCathern uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Sean behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures McCathern about fouling.  McCathern almost instantly recovers. 
McCathern hits home with a left hook.  McCathern attempts to land a jab, but Sean slips the shot and counters with a big left hook.  MCCATHERN WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  McCathern almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Sean lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Sean gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  McCathern almost instantly recovers. 
McCathern tries to step out of his opponents range.  Sean feints a left, and then lands an overhand right followed by  two straights to his opponents head.  
Sean steps inside and manouvers McCathern onto the ropes.  Sean lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head, AND SENDS MCCATHERN TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Sean thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put McCathern away.  Sean lands a right uppercut to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a right uppercut to the body.  The winner by KO is Sean!
