Paul Scroggin vs Rogelio Carreras

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Houston Athletic Fencing Center, Houston,  taking place on 31/01/2042:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Paul Scroggin (9(5) - 0) who hails from Saint Paul, USA and Rogelio Carreras(0 - 1) from Tlalnepantla, Mexico.  Scroggin weighed in at 229 pounds And 10 ounces, while Carreras weighed in at 236 pounds And 6 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Joaquin Villanova, and the three ringside judges are Corey Barnes, Henry Messer and Brett Sproule.  

Round 1:

Carreras steps inside.  Scroggin drives a left uppercut into Carreras's liver.  
Scroggin steps away from his opponent and drives a hard jab into his opponents face.

Scroggin throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Scroggin about fouling.  Carreras quickly recovers.

Scroggin knows Carreras is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Scroggin lands a right uppercut, right hook and a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES CARRERAS!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  It looks like Carreras has now recovered from that shot earlier.

Scroggin lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND CARRERAS IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 6.  
Carreras closes the distance.  Scroggin senses a stoppage victory - he just needs the right shot.  Scroggin lands a right uppercut to the body, a cross to the head and a right uppercut to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook, cross and a left hook to his opponents head, AND CARRERAS IS DOWN!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Scroggin!
