Chris Cairns vs Cole Arbuthnot

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Minnesota promoted show at Gethin Nicholson Gym, Minneapolis,  taking place on 10/04/2042:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Minnesota Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Chris Cairns (4(2) - 0) who hails from Minneapolis, USA and Cole Arbuthnot(11 - 18(2) - 7 - 1(NC)) from Minneapolis, USA.  Both Cairns and Arbuthnot weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Harry Streblow, and the three ringside judges are Charlie Genz, Harry Streblow and James Dapp.  

Round 1: 

Arbuthnot closes the distance.  Cairns pivots from in front of his opponent.  Cairns lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Cairns holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks Cairns's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  Cairns throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Cairns walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Cairns lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the head.  
Arbuthnot steps inside.  Cairns lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by two left hook's to the head.  Cairns holds on to his opponent.  Cairns pushes his forearm into Arbuthnot's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Cairns.  
Arbuthnot is on target with a right hook.  Arbuthnot tries to land a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a stinging left hook.  
Cairns steps inside.  Cairns pivots from in front of his opponent.  Cairns is on target with a right hook to Arbuthnot's body.  Cairns ties up his opponent.  Cairns tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Arbuthnot's kidney. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Cairns advances into close range and walks Arbuthnot down, trapping him in the red corner.  Cairns hits home with a left hook.  
Cairns pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Cairns switches the action to the outside and drives a jab into Arbuthnot's body.  
Cairns lands a stinging jab.  
Arbuthnot is looking to close the distance.  Cairns connects with a solid left hook.

Cairns advances into close range.  Cairns steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  Arbuthnot accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Cairns.  
Cairns lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Cairns is on target with a sharp left hook to his opponents body.  
Cairns lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Cairns lands a right hook.  
Cairns lands a stinging jab.

Cairns steps inside and drives a right hook into Arbuthnot's body.  Cairns holds on to his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Cairns hits home with a forceful left hook.  ARBUTHNOT IS HURT!  
Cairns knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  Cairns lands a right hook, left hook and a left uppercut to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook, cross and a right hook to his opponents head, DROPPING ARBUTHNOT TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 8.  Arbuthnot now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.
