Juan Veras vs Leon MacEwan

Boxing Daily Report from the Top Shelf Prospects promoted show at Copper Box Arena, London,  taking place on 03/05/2042:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Juan Veras (8(5) - 0) who hails from Taguig, Philippines and Leon MacEwan(9 - 10(3) - 3) from Cork, Ireland.  Both Veras and MacEwan weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Connor Hamel, and the three ringside judges are Alastair Myres, Joe Blevins and Andy Reese.  

Round 1: 

Veras steps inside and throws a left uppercut, but the shot is blocked.  Veras clinches his opponent.  Veras is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Veras is on target with a sharp left hook to MacEwan's liver.  Veras clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Veras pushes his forearm into MacEwan's face.  The ref breaks Veras's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  As Veras tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as MacEwan dabs at his face checking for damage.  
MacEwan steps away from his opponent.  Veras lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
Veras closes the distance and walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  Veras throws a right uppercut, but the shot is blocked.  Veras clinches his opponent.  Veras leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Veras's hold and signals for the fight to continue.

MacEwan retreats back to the ropes, and waits for his opponent to attack.  Veras steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  Veras lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Veras sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Veras throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Veras feints a cross, fooling MacEwan into throwing a cross counter.  Veras springs the trap, countering with  a solid cross.  
Veras closes the distance and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Veras lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Veras drives a solid left hook into MacEwan's body.  
Veras pivots to the right of his opponent.  Veras lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body, DROPPING MACEWAN TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 8.  Veras holds on to his opponent.  Veras leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  MacEwan quickly recovers.
