Boxing Daily Report from the Top Shelf Prospects promoted show at Casino Miami Jai Alai, Miami,  taking place on 17/05/2042:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Manuel Mesquita (11(8) - 0) who hails from Belo Horizonte, Brazil and Joel Mundy(31 - 17(4) - 1) from Athens, USA.  Both Mesquita and Mundy weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ian Hossack, and the three ringside judges are Mark Pettry, Glynn Mescall and Robert Johnstone.  

Round 1: 

Mesquita lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Mesquita manages to force Mundy onto the ropes.  Mesquita wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mundy dabs at his face checking for damage.  Mundy has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.  
Mesquita lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Mesquita attempts to land a cross, but Mundy blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.

Mundy tries to keep the action at long range and drives a cross into Mesquita's body.

Mesquita drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Mundy throws an overhand right, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Mesquita steps inside.  Mesquita pivots to the side of his opponent.  Mesquita attempts to land a left hook, but Mundy blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Mesquita pivots from in front of his opponent.  Mesquita attempts to land a left hook, but Mundy sidesteps and counters with a stinging cross.  
Mundy lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Mesquita pivots from in front of his opponent.  Mundy tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Mesquita connects with a firm cross.  
Mesquita pivots to the right of his opponent and strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Mesquita is looking to close the distance.  Mundy throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a nasty cross.  MUNDY IS HURT!  Mundy recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Mesquita lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Mesquita holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Mesquita pushes his forearm into Mundy's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Mesquita throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  Mundy almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Mesquita walks Mundy down, trapping him in a corner.  Mesquita digs in a firm left hook to Mundy's body.  
Mesquita pivots to the left of his opponent.  Mundy throws a left uppercut, but Mesquita holds on to his opponent.  Mundy leans on his opponent using all his weight. Mesquita tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Mundy behind the head. Mundy pushes his forearm into Mesquita's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Mesquita pivots from in front of his opponent and is on target with a firm left uppercut.  
Mesquita pivots from in front of his opponent.  Mesquita throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Mundy hits home with a sharp cross.  
Mesquita lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Mesquita pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut, right hook and a left hook to his opponents head.

Mesquita is on target with a right hook.  
Mundy steps to the outside.  Mesquita sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Mundy attempts to land a cross, but Mesquita dodges the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Mesquita lands a jab to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Mundy recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Mesquita steps inside and drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  Mesquita holds on to his opponent.  Mesquita is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Mesquita's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Mesquita is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook, right uppercut and a right hook to his opponents head, KNOCKING MUNDY DOWN!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Mesquita!
