Leighton Weatherly vs Gus Dudgeon

Boxing Daily Report from the FightArama promoted show at Cowles Stadium, Christchurch,  taking place on 16/05/2042:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Leighton Weatherly (3(2) - 1(1)) who hails from Christchurch, New Zealand and Gus Dudgeon(1 - 0) from Wellington, New Zealand.  Both Weatherly and Dudgeon weighed in at 105 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Tobias Vert, and the three ringside judges are Mike Muncie, Clint Cattell and Gareth Young.  

Round 1: 

Weatherly connects with a stinging cross.  
Weatherly digs in a solid left hook to his opponents body.  
Weatherly gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Dudgeon throws a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Weatherly closes the distance.  Dudgeon lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Weatherly throws a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Dudgeon attempts to land a left uppercut, but Weatherly sidesteps and counters with a solid right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Dudgeon switches the action to the outside.  Weatherly lands a stinging overhand right.  
Weatherly steps inside and cuts off the ring, trapping Dudgeon on the ropes.  Weatherly lands a left hook.  
Weatherly is on target with a left hook to Dudgeon's body.  
Weatherly lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Dudgeon recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Weatherly gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Dudgeon quickly recovers.

Weatherly gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Dudgeon recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Weatherly lands a stinging left hook.  
Weatherly waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Dudgeon attempts to land a jab, but Weatherly blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Weatherly steps inside and connects with a left hook.  
Weatherly finds the target with a jab.  
Dudgeon tries to keep the action at long range.  Weatherly lands a double jab to his opponents head.

Dudgeon walks Weatherly into a corner.  Dudgeon throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Weatherly lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Weatherly advances into close range.  Dudgeon attempts to land a right hook, but Weatherly sidesteps and counters with a left hook.

At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Dudgeon's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Dudgeon's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Dudgeon's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Weatherly quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and drives a left hook into Dudgeon's ribs.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Dudgeon dabs at his face checking for damage.

Weatherly steps inside and lands a left hook to the head, a left uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Weatherly advances into close range and lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Dudgeon hits home with a left hook.  
Dudgeon drives a spiteful jab into his opponents face.  
Weatherly tries to land a jab, but Dudgeon sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Weatherly is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
The right shot from Weatherly could be enough to force the stoppage!  Weatherly lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a cross, left uppercut and a cross to his opponents head, AND DROPS DUDGEON!  He is back up on his feet at 7.  Dudgeon now seems to have got his legs back.

Weatherly steps inside.  Dudgeon throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Dudgeon hits home with a right hook.  
Weatherly advances into close range and digs in a solid left hook to Dudgeon's liver.  DUDGEON WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Weatherly sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Weatherly whips in a DEVASTATING right uppercut to his opponents body.  DUDGEON HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  THE REF STOPS THE FIGHT!  HE DOES NOT BELIEVE DUDGEON CAN CONTINUE!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Weatherly!
