Brandon Regan vs John Whelan

Boxing Daily Report from the Plunder Boxing promoted show at Raddison Blu Hotel, Glasgow,  taking place on 29/04/2042:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Brandon Regan (1 - 0) who hails from Bangor, UK and John Whelan(3 - 10 - 1) from Bolton, UK.  Regan weighed in at 135 pounds, while Whelan weighed in at 135 pounds and 10 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Hamish McBeth, and the three ringside judges are Joseph Menelaws, William Cooper and Gordon MacDuff.  

Round 1: 

Regan lands an overhand left to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Regan closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  
Regan closes the distance.  Whelan throws a left hook, but Regan ties up his opponent.  Regan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Regan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Whelan steps to the outside.  Regan lands a cross, jab and a cross to his opponents head.  
Regan gets on the inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Regan clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Regan pushes his forearm into Whelan's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Regan about fouling.  
Regan lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Regan clinches his opponent.  Regan tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Whelan's kidney. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Regan gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Regan clinches his opponent.  Regan leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Regan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Whelan finds the target with a jab.  Whelan throws a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Regan closes the distance and connects with a sharp right hook.

Regan steps inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.

Whelan switches the action to the outside.  Regan feints a left hook, and then lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Regan closes the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Regan ties up his opponent.  Regan tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Whelan's kidney. 
Regan gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a right uppercut to the head.  
Regan forces Whelan to retreat into a corner.  Regan lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Regan lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Regan lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Whelan steps to the outside.  Regan feints a right hook, and then is on target with a cross.  
Regan is looking to close the distance and is on target with a SAVAGE right hook.  IT LOOKS LIKE WHELAN WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Whelan quickly recovers. 
Regan is on target with a right uppercut to Whelan's ribcage.  Regan clinches his opponent.  Regan is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.

Whelan tries to keep the action at long range.  Regan lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head, KNOCKING WHELAN DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 8.  Whelan quickly recovers. 
Regan closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND WHELAN IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 8.  
Whelan steps away from his opponent.  Regan lands a jab.  
Regan closes the distance and manouvers Whelan into the corner.  Regan lands a WICKED left hook.  WHELAN IS HURT!  Whelan quickly recovers. 
Regan walks Whelan down, trapping him in the blue corner.  Regan lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  He then lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Whelan almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Regan lands a left hook, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents head.  
Regan is looking to close the distance and connects with a sharp right uppercut.  
Regan is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Regan lands a firm left hook.
