James Pringle vs Ian Poovey

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Jamaica-Saint Andrew promoted show at New Kingston Dewart, New Kingston,  taking place on 02/06/2042:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Jamaica Super Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on SportsMax, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are James Pringle (5 - 7(2) - 1) who hails from New Kingston, Jamaica and Ian Poovey(22(19) - 1) from Spanish Town, Jamaica.  Both Pringle and Poovey weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is John Cullom, and the three ringside judges are Kyle Burnside, Ricky Hewson and David Leith.  

Round 1: 

Poovey lands a jab to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Poovey lands with a ramrod jab.  
Poovey gets on the inside.  Pringle attempts to land a left hook, but Poovey blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut to Pringle's body.  
Poovey hits home with a sharp right uppercut.  
Poovey walks his opponent into a corner.  Poovey lands a left hook to the body, a left hook to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  Poovey ties up his opponent.  Poovey pushes his forearm into Pringle's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Poovey about fouling.  
Poovey closes the distance and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Pringle recovers before his opponent can take advantage.

Poovey throws a right hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Poovey ties up his opponent.  Poovey leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. As they grapple, Poovey pushes his forearm into Pringle's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Poovey to stop fouling.  
Poovey forces Pringle to back into the corner.  Poovey lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Poovey clinches his opponent.  Poovey leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Poovey lands a firm left hook.  Poovey clinches his opponent.  Poovey is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Poovey connects with a right hook.  
Poovey pivots from in front of his opponent.  Pringle throws a left uppercut, but Poovey holds on to his opponent.  Poovey leans on his opponent using all his weight. Poovey tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Pringle behind the head.

Poovey digs in a stinging right hook to his opponents body.  Poovey holds on to his opponent.  Poovey pushes his forearm into Pringle's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Poovey.  
Poovey walks Pringle into a neutral corner.  Poovey lands a hurtful right hook.  PRINGLE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Pringle recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Poovey throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Poovey holds on to his opponent.  Poovey leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Poovey lands a left hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a left uppercut to the body.  
Poovey gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Poovey knows Pringle is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Poovey lands two consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents head, AND DROPS PRINGLE TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 5.  Pringle now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Pringle throws a left hook, but Poovey clinches his opponent.  Poovey is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Poovey lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Pringle quickly recovers.

Poovey drives a solid left hook into his opponents ribs.

Pringle steps away from his opponent.  Poovey lands a sharp cross.  
Poovey gets on the inside and walks Pringle into a corner.  Poovey lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Poovey drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Poovey lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Poovey is on target with a right uppercut to Pringle's ribcage.  
Pringle closes the distance.  Poovey pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Pringle has taken some damage there.  That has caused slight damage to the nose.

Poovey lands a SAVAGE left hook.  IT LOOKS LIKE PRINGLE WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Poovey holds on to his opponent.  Poovey leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Pringle recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Pringle steps to the outside.  Poovey is on target with a cross.  
Poovey steps inside and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Pringle is looking to keep his distance.  Poovey is on target with a firm overhand right.  
Poovey manouvers Pringle into the corner.  Poovey slams a mean left uppercut into his opponents liver.  PRINGLE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!
