Ciaran McCaig vs Mark Bassee

Boxing Daily Report from the HONEYPUNCH promoted show at Galway Sportsgrounds, Galway,  taking place on 09/08/2042:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Western Europe Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on RET One, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Ciaran McCaig (20(11) - 6(4)) who hails from Dublin, Ireland and Mark Bassee(29(10) - 13(7) - 1) from Utrecht, Netherlands.  Both McCaig and Bassee weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Niall Monday, and the three ringside judges are Ian Doyle, Fionn Madden and Shamus McCaleb.  

Round 1: 

McCaig hits home with a solid cross.  
Bassee attempts to land a jab, but McCaig blocks the shot and counters with a stinging right uppercut.  
Bassee walks his opponent into a neutral corner.  Bassee lands a right hook.

McCaig drives a potent left uppercut into Bassee's body.  BASSEE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Bassee almost instantly recovers.

McCaig switches the action to the outside and lands a cross to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
McCaig lands an overhand left followed by a jab to his opponents head.

Bassee digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.

McCaig tries to keep the action at long range.  Bassee attempts to land a jab, but McCaig sidesteps and counters with a firm right uppercut to Bassee's ribs.  
McCaig steps to the outside and hits home with a stinging cross.  
McCaig closes the distance.  Bassee is on target with a left hook.  
Bassee feints a cross, and then lands a jab to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
McCaig is looking to keep his distance and hits home with a cross.  
Bassee manouvers McCaig onto the ropes.  Bassee hits home with a left hook.  
McCaig is looking to keep the action on the outside.  McCaig quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Bassee lands a cross.

Bassee walks McCaig onto the ropes.  McCaig lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND BASSEE IS DOWN!  He manages to get up at 5.  
McCaig steps to the outside.  McCaig senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Bassee and just needs the right shot.  McCaig crashes a big left hook to his opponents body.  DOWN GOES BASSEE!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  It looks like Bassee has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
McCaig gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
McCaig switches the action to the outside and hits home with a sharp cross.  
Bassee advances into close range and throws a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
McCaig drives a right uppercut into his opponents ribcage.  
McCaig whips in a DEVASTATING left hook to Bassee's liver.  BASSEE HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  THE REF DOES NOT EVEN BOTHER WITH THE COUNT...HE'S SEEN ENOUGH AND HAS STOPPED THE FIGHT!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is McCaig!
