Gethin Mortimer vs Zach Cody

Boxing Daily Report from the Gore Promotions promoted show at Agganis Arena, Boston,  taking place on 02/08/2042:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Gethin Mortimer (18(12) - 0) who hails from Boston, USA and Zach Cody(10(3) - 0) from Boston, USA.  Both Mortimer and Cody weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ian Noble, and the three ringside judges are Bilal Elbaz, Nathan Burt and Bart McWethy.  

Round 1: 

Cody tries to step out of his opponents range.  Mortimer hits home with a cross.  
Mortimer digs in a stinging left uppercut to Cody's ribs.  
Cody hits home with a ramrod jab.  
Mortimer closes the distance.  Cody throws a left uppercut, but Mortimer holds on to his opponent.  Mortimer is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Mortimer.  
Mortimer is on target with a solid left uppercut to his opponents ribs.  Mortimer throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Mortimer manouvers Cody onto the ropes.  Cody digs in a right hook to Mortimer's ribcage.  
Mortimer drives a sharp left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Mortimer is on target with a forceful left hook to his opponents liver.  CODY IS HURT!  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mortimer dabs at his face checking for damage.  Cody almost instantly recovers. 
Mortimer whips in a nasty left hook to Cody's body.  IT LOOKS LIKE CODY WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Mortimer throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Mortimer gets on the inside.  Mortimer knows Cody is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Mortimer lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body, DROPPING CODY TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 6.  It looks like Cody has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Mortimer advances into close range and digs in a right uppercut to Cody's ribs.  
Mortimer digs in a solid left hook to Cody's body.  
Cody is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Mortimer lands a cross.  
Mortimer closes the distance.  Cody pivots to the right of his opponent.  Cody tries to land a left uppercut, but Mortimer sidesteps and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Cody digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Mortimer sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Mortimer drives a solid left hook into Cody's body.  Mortimer attempts to land a right hook, but Cody parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut to Mortimer's ribs.  
Mortimer steps inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Mortimer is on target with a sharp left hook to his opponents liver.  
Mortimer lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Mortimer throws a left uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook to Mortimer's body.  
Cody switches the action to the outside and finds the target with a jab.  
Mortimer lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Cody pivots to the left of his opponent.  Mortimer is on target with a solid cross.  
Mortimer advances into close range.  Cody hits home with a left hook.  Mortimer clinches his opponent.  Cody pushes his forearm into Mortimer's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Cody.  
Cody lands a sharp jab.  
Cody attempts to land a right hook, but Mortimer sidesteps and counters with a BRUTAL right hook.  CODY IS HURT!  
Mortimer stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  Mortimer lands a right uppercut, left uppercut and a right uppercut to his opponents head.  He then lands a cross, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head, AND DOWN GOES CODY!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.

Mortimer gets on the inside and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Mortimer attempts to land a left hook, but Cody sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Mortimer gets on the inside.  Cody drives a left hook into his opponents ribs.  Mortimer clinches his opponent.  Mortimer leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Cody steps away from his opponent.  Mortimer throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Mortimer attempts to land a cross, but Cody sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Mortimer lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Mortimer gets on the inside.  Cody pivots to the right of his opponent.  Mortimer lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Mortimer lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Cody tries to land a jab, but Mortimer sidesteps and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Mortimer closes the distance.  Cody lands a right hook.

Cody sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Mortimer steps inside and digs in a stinging right hook to Cody's body.  
Cody hits home with a left hook.  
Mortimer digs in a right hook to Cody's body.  
Mortimer gets on the inside.  Mortimer sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Mortimer lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Mortimer ties up his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  Cody quickly recovers. 
Mortimer is on target with a solid right hook to his opponents body.  IT LOOKS LIKE CODY WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Cody quickly recovers. 
Mortimer digs in a stinging left uppercut to his opponents body.  CODY WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Mortimer walks Cody down, trapping him in the corner.  Mortimer is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Mortimer lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body, AND DROPS CODY TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 8.  It looks like Cody has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Cody's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Cody's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Cody pivots from in front of his opponent.  Mortimer is on target with a right hook.  
Mortimer manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Cody attempts to land a right hook, but Mortimer blocks the shot and counters with a nasty cross.  CODY IS HURT!  Cody quickly recovers.
