Dylan Birnie vs Nick Nee

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Alaska promoted show at USA-Alaska Gym, Anchorage,  taking place on 07/08/2042:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the USA-Mountain West Super Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Dylan Birnie (4 - 3 - 2) who hails from Denver, USA and Nick Nee(21(5) - 1) from Anchorage, USA.  Birnie weighed in at 114 pounds and 11 ounces, while Nee weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Bryan Hindman, and the three ringside judges are David Edmiston, Leon Chisolm and David Edmiston.  

Round 1: 

Nee is looking to close the distance.  Nee is on target with a sharp right hook to his opponents body.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Birnie dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Nee lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Birnie cuts off the ring, trapping Nee on the ropes.  Nee digs in a right uppercut to Birnie's ribs.  
Birnie attempts to land a jab, but Nee slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.

Birnie pivots from in front of his opponent.  Nee hits home with a cross.  Nee throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Birnie throws a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Birnie steps away from his opponent and is on target with a jab.  
Nee steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Birnie tries to keep the action at long range.  Nee sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits the target with a sharp jab.

Nee closes the distance and throws a left hook, but his opponent avoids the punch with a sidestep.  Nee clinches his opponent.  Nee is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Nee uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Birnie behind the head. The referee warns Nee and breaks the clinch.

At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Birnie's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Birnie's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Birnie's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Birnie.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
