Paul Scroggin vs Brett Andre

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Allianz Field, Saint Paul,  taking place on 04/10/2042:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the USA-Minnesota Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Fox Sports, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Paul Scroggin (12(8) - 0) who hails from Saint Paul, USA and Brett Andre(36 - 15 - 3) from Saint Paul, USA.  Scroggin weighed in at 229 pounds and 10 ounces, while Andre weighed in at 228 pounds and 11 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Charlie Genz, and the three ringside judges are Zachary Mattus, David Scholar and Roger Blum.  

Round 1: 

Scroggin is looking to close the distance and digs in a sharp left uppercut to his opponents body.

Scroggin lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.

Scroggin closes the distance and digs in a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  Scroggin ties up his opponent.  Andre is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Scroggin sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body, AND DOWN GOES ANDRE!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  
Scroggin is looking to force the stoppage!  Scroggin whips in a nasty right hook to his opponents ribcage.  ANDRE IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  Andre now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.

Andre switches the action to the outside and attempts to land a cross, but Scroggin slips the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.

Scroggin throws a left hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Scroggin holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Andre pushes his forearm into Scroggin's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.

Andre attempts to land a jab, but Scroggin sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Scroggin throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Andre tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm left uppercut.  
Andre walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Scroggin lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Scroggin closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Scroggin is on target with a left hook.  Scroggin holds on to his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Scroggin finds the target with a jab.  
Scroggin closes the distance.  Andre throws a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Scroggin quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and slams a big left hook into Andre's liver.  ANDRE HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 6.  
Andre steps to the outside and is on target with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Andre's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Andre's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Andre's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Andre's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Andre throws a right hook, but Scroggin clinches his opponent.  Scroggin leans on his opponent using all his weight. Andre pushes his forearm into Scroggin's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Scroggin lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Scroggin ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Andre pushes his forearm into Scroggin's face.  The referee warns Andre and breaks the clinch.  
Scroggin walks his opponent into a corner.  Scroggin is on target with a right uppercut to Andre's ribcage.  Scroggin attempts to land a right hook, but Andre blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.

He continues the combination and lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body, KNOCKING ANDRE DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  Andre now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.

Scroggin is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Scroggin lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND SENDS ANDRE SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Scroggin!
