Ian Strang vs Bryan Carrothers

Boxing Daily Report from the Kiwi Promotions promoted show at Noel Albany Gym, Wellington,  taking place on 29/09/2042:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand-Wellington Super Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ian Strang (8 - 6 - 1) who hails from Wellington, New Zealand and Bryan Carrothers(2(2) - 0) from Wellington, New Zealand.  Strang weighed in at 139 pounds and 8 ounces, while Carrothers weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Patrick Swanson, and the three ringside judges are Mason Bethel, Oliver Murray and Glynn Morgan.  

Round 1: 

Carrothers hits home with a solid cross.  
Carrothers is on target with a left hook to his opponents body.  Carrothers attempts to land a left uppercut, but Strang blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Strang steps away from his opponent.  Carrothers feints a jab, tricking Strang into launching a left uppercut counter.  Carrothers is waiting for the shot and counters with a sharp left hook.  
Carrothers closes the distance and forces Strang to back into a corner.  Carrothers lands a right hook.  
Carrothers is on target with a firm right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Carrothers throws a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Carrothers holds on to his opponent.  Carrothers pushes his forearm into Strang's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Carrothers hits the target with a solid jab.  
Carrothers sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Carrothers advances into close range and drives a solid left hook into his opponents body.  Carrothers ties up his opponent.  Carrothers is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Carrothers about fouling.  
Carrothers gets on the inside.  Strang drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Carrothers gets on the inside and digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Carrothers closes the distance and walks Strang into a corner.  Carrothers lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Carrothers hits home with a sharp right hook.  
Carrothers connects with a left hook.  
Carrothers gets on the inside and digs in a right hook to Strang's body.  
Carrothers lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Carrothers steps inside.  Carrothers hits home with a right hook.  Carrothers ties up his opponent.  Carrothers leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Strang dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Strang throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot.  Carrothers clinches his opponent.  Carrothers throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. 
Carrothers tries to land a left hook, but Strang blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Carrothers lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Carrothers lands a sharp right hook.  
Strang steps to the outside.  Carrothers feints a right hook, and then hits home with a cross.  Carrothers throws a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Carrothers goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action and gives Strang time to recover.  
Carrothers closes the distance and is on target with a firm left hook.  Carrothers ties up his opponent.  Carrothers leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Carrothers tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Strang's kidney. 
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Strang's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.

Carrothers walks Strang into the blue corner.  Carrothers digs in a firm right hook to Strang's ribcage.  
Carrothers is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Carrothers throws a right uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Carrothers hits home with a cross.  
Carrothers closes the distance and is on target with a stinging left uppercut.  
Carrothers closes the distance and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Strang tries to land a cross, but Carrothers sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Carrothers gets on the inside and lands a MASSIVE left uppercut.  STRANG IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Strang steps away from his opponent and finds the target with a jab.  
Carrothers steps inside and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Strang finds the target with a jab.  
Carrothers is looking to close the distance and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.

Strang steps away from his opponent and throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a sharp right uppercut.
