Dai Ednie vs John Ronnie

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at First Avenue, Minneapolis,  taking place on 07/11/2042:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Dai Ednie (6(5) - 0) who hails from Quebec City, Canada and John Ronnie(2 - 4) from Houston, USA.  Both Ednie and Ronnie weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Charlie Genz, and the three ringside judges are Alastair Cullen, Brad Dey and Sam Power.  

Round 1: 

Ronnie tries to land a right hook, but Ednie slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Ednie is on target with a firm left hook to Ronnie's liver.  
Ednie hits home with a sharp cross.

Ednie manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Ronnie throws a right hook, but Ednie ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Ednie pushes his forearm into Ronnie's face.  The ref breaks Ednie's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Ednie closes the distance and digs in a left hook to Ronnie's ribs.  
Ronnie switches the action to the outside.  Ednie finds the target with a jab.  
Ednie advances into close range.  Ronnie pivots to the right of his opponent.  Ednie lands a left hook followed by  two right uppercuts to his opponents head.  Ednie ties up his opponent.  Ednie is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Ednie's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Ednie lands a left hook to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Ednie connects with a left hook.  
Ednie cuts off the ring, trapping Ronnie in the corner.  Ednie is on target with a left uppercut.  Ednie ties up his opponent.  Ronnie uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Ednie behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Ednie walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Ednie is on target with a left uppercut.  Ednie clinches his opponent.  Ednie is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Ednie hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Ednie to stop holding.

Ednie gets on the inside and connects with a MASSIVE left uppercut.  IT LOOKS LIKE RONNIE WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Ronnie could be stopped here, if Ednie can find the right shot!  Ednie lands a FIERCE left uppercut.  RONNIE IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 7.  Ronnie now seems to have got his legs back.
