Derex Giebel vs Shayan Salloum

Boxing Daily Report from the Punch Drunk Promotions promoted show at Lanxess Arena, Cologne,  taking place on 17/01/2043:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Sky Sport Deutschland, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Derex Giebel (9(4) - 0) who hails from Regensburg, Germany and Shayan Salloum(16 - 3 - 2) from Cairo, Egypt.  Both Giebel and Salloum weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Willard Kronberger, and the three ringside judges are Alarick Christ, Reginald Amrhein and Kyland Kunstman.  

Round 1: 

Salloum closes the distance.  Giebel connects with a sharp left hook.  Giebel clinches his opponent.  Giebel is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Giebel to stop fouling.  
Giebel lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He then lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Giebel clinches his opponent.  Giebel leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Salloum throws a right hook, but Giebel clinches his opponent.  Giebel hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Giebel about fouling.  
Giebel circles his opponent with a low guard, waiting for his opponent to attack.  Salloum connects with a right uppercut.  
Giebel lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Giebel hits home with a solid left hook.  
Giebel drives a firm right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Giebel lands a stinging right hook.  
Giebel lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Giebel knows Salloum is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Giebel lands a right uppercut, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook, left uppercut and a right uppercut to his opponents body.  Salloum now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.

Giebel quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.

Giebel is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Giebel lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Giebel contemptuously drops his hands, trying to provoke his opponent.  Salloum attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref ignores Giebel's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Giebel steps inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Giebel is on target with a firm left hook to Salloum's body.  
Giebel lands with a hard jab.  
Giebel lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND DROPS SALLOUM TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  
Giebel gets on the inside.  Giebel pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a stinging left uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Salloum's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Salloum's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Salloum's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Giebel stands off with low guard waiting for his opponent to launch an attack.  Salloum attempts to land a jab, but Giebel dodges the shot and counters with a solid right hook.  
Giebel steps inside and hits home with a stinging right hook.  
Giebel sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a sharp left hook.  
Giebel lands a firm right hook.  
Giebel lands a left uppercut to the body followed by two left hook's to the head.  Giebel ties up his opponent.  Giebel leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Giebel digs in a sharp right hook to Salloum's body.  
Giebel sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Giebel digs in a left hook to Salloum's liver.  Giebel holds on to his opponent.  Giebel leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Giebel manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Giebel digs in a firm right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Giebel lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Giebel lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Salloum advances into close range.  Giebel lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Salloum almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Giebel hits home with a left hook.  Giebel wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Salloum dabs at his face checking for damage.

Giebel forces Salloum to retreat into the corner.  Salloum attempts to land a right uppercut, but Giebel blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.

Giebel lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  Giebel holds on to his opponent.  The referee breaks up the clinch and lectures Giebel to stop holding.
