Fraco Varona vs Gonzalo Lazos

Boxing Daily Report from the Obita Promotions promoted show at Dasmarinas Dimaporo, Dasmarinas,  taking place on 31/12/2042:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Philippines-Cavite Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Fraco Varona (36(6) - 7) who hails from General Trias, Philippines and Gonzalo Lazos(5 - 2 - 1) from Bacoor, Philippines.  Both Varona and Lazos weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Michael Saley, and the three ringside judges are Alejandro Telleria, Urvano Dimaporo and Jose Salire.  

Round 1: 

Varona lands a double jab to his opponents head.

Lazos gets on the inside and manouvers Varona into a corner.  Varona hits home with a left hook.  Varona wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Lazos has been damaged by the clash of heads.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.  
As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Lazos dabs at his face checking for damage.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Lazos.  That has caused minor swelling  around the left eye.  
Lazos closes the distance.  Varona quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Varona is looking to keep the action on the outside and connects with an overhand left.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Lazos's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.
