Kirk Melby vs Ronald Thomassen

Boxing Daily Report from the Valhalla Promotions promoted show at Valhalla Gym, Oslo,  taking place on 20/12/2042:

Clearly Valhalla Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Kirk Melby (3(2) - 0) who hails from Oslo, Norway and Ronald Thomassen(3 - 3 - 1) from Oslo, Norway.  Melby weighed in at 139 pounds And 11 ounces, while Thomassen weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ker Martinson, and the three ringside judges are Sigurd Nesset, Ragnar Mehle and Gunnar Berdahl.  

Round 1: 

Melby is looking to close the distance.  Melby sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a firm left hook.  
Melby is on target with a firm left hook.  Melby clinches his opponent.  Melby pushes his forearm into Thomassen's face.  The ref breaks Melby's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Melby walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  Melby quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Melby lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Melby holds on to his opponent.  Melby pushes his forearm into Thomassen's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Melby lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Melby ties up his opponent.  Melby tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Thomassen's kidney. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Melby to stop fouling.  
Melby is on target with a cross.  
Melby lands a right uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  
Melby steps to the outside and hits home with a hard jab.  
Melby gets on the inside.  Melby sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a right hook.  
Melby connects with a right hook.  
Melby pivots to the left of his opponent and lands with a spiteful jab.  
Melby closes the distance.  Thomassen throws a left hook, but Melby holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Melby pushes his forearm into Thomassen's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Melby to stop fouling.  
Melby gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Melby lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  Melby ties up his opponent.  Melby tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Thomassen's kidney. 
Melby pivots to the right of his opponent.  Melby throws a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot.  Melby holds on to his opponent.  Melby is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Melby hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. 
Melby connects with a left hook.  
Melby manouvers Thomassen into a corner.  Melby pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Melby is looking to force the stoppage!  Melby lands a left uppercut, right uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a right uppercut, right hook and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Thomassen throws a left uppercut, but Melby holds on to his opponent.  Melby leans on his opponent using all his weight. Melby tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Thomassen behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  It looks like Thomassen has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Thomassen's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Thomassen's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Melby lands with a ramrod jab.  
Melby is on target with a solid left hook to his opponents body.  
Melby lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Melby lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Melby gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Thomassen steps away from his opponent.  Melby is on target with a jab.  
Melby whips in a big left hook to his opponents ribs.  THOMASSEN IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  
Melby manouvers his opponent into the red corner.  Melby is on target with a right hook.  
Melby lands a spiteful jab.  
Melby lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Melby is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a jab followed by  two straights to his opponents head, AND SENDS THOMASSEN SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He makes it to one knee, but is unable to rise any further as the ref counts 10!  The winner by KO is Melby!
