Denton McClelland vs Dave Pottinger

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Sofi Stadium, Los Angeles,  taking place on 14/03/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Americas Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Denton the Hitman McClelland (41(41) - 0 - 1) who hails from Syracuse, USA and Dave Pottinger(30(3) - 14(2) - 1) from Olathe, USA.  Both McClelland and Pottinger weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ben Banos, and the three ringside judges are Sam Salvas, John Torrance and David Merricks.  

Round 1: 

Pottinger steps inside.  McClelland hits home with a sharp right uppercut.  
McClelland switches the action to the outside and lands two consecutive overhand lefts to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
McClelland tries to keep the action at long range and is on target with a firm cross.  
McClelland feints a jab, but Pottinger does not fall for it and responds with a sharp left uppercut.  
McClelland attempts to land a cross, but Pottinger parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Pottinger connects with a cross.

McClelland lands a right uppercut followed by  two straights to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
McClelland tries to keep the action at long range.  McClelland is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  McClelland connects with a DESTRUCTIVE right uppercut.  POTTINGER IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  Pottinger now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
McClelland steps to the outside and lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Pottinger recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
McClelland steps away from his opponent and connects with an overhand left.  
Pottinger gets on the inside.  McClelland EXPLODES a VICIOUS right uppercut into his opponents face.  POTTINGER WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  McClelland holds on to his opponent.  McClelland is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns McClelland.  Pottinger recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
McClelland is looking to keep the action on the outside and throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Pottinger gets on the inside.  McClelland is on target with a right uppercut.  McClelland ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Pottinger pushes his forearm into McClelland's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Pottinger throws a right hook, but McClelland clinches his opponent.  Pottinger throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref separates the two fighters.  
McClelland is on target with a sharp cross.  
Pottinger advances into close range and connects with a sharp left uppercut.  
McClelland is on target with a solid right hook.  McClelland ties up his opponent.  McClelland leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
McClelland switches the action to the outside and lands three consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McClelland's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Pottinger's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Pottinger's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

McClelland throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp right uppercut.  
McClelland connects with a firm cross.  
Pottinger gets on the inside and connects with a right hook.  
McClelland tries to step out of his opponents range and finds the target with a jab.  
Pottinger advances into close range.  McClelland connects with a right hook.  McClelland clinches his opponent.  McClelland throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
McClelland hits home with a cross.
