Gabriel Zegarra vs Zach Hughes

Boxing Daily Report from the Top Shelf Prospects promoted show at Casino Miami Jai Alai, Miami,  taking place on 14/02/2043:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Gabriel Zegarra (12(7) - 0) who hails from Ponce, Puerto Rico and Zach Hughes(10 - 8(1) - 3) from San Jose, USA.  Both Zegarra and Hughes weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Colin Elder, and the three ringside judges are Cole Ghant, Theo Ines and Fanuco Onate.  

Round 1: 

Hughes advances into close range.  Zegarra quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Zegarra lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Zegarra gets on the inside and connects with a left hook.  
Zegarra drives a firm left hook into his opponents liver.  
Zegarra is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Zegarra drives a left hook into Hughes's body.  
Zegarra is looking to close the distance and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Zegarra ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Zegarra pushes his forearm into Hughes's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Zegarra.  
Zegarra lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Zegarra ties up his opponent.  Zegarra hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. Zegarra is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Zegarra gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Hughes closes the distance.  Zegarra sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Zegarra lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Zegarra clinches his opponent.  Zegarra leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Zegarra throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Zegarra to stop fouling.  
Zegarra sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Zegarra advances into close range and lands a left hook to the head followed by two right hook's to the body.  
Zegarra steps inside.  Zegarra sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a right hook.  
Zegarra lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Zegarra cuts off the ring, trapping Hughes in a corner.  Zegarra drives a sharp left uppercut into Hughes's liver.  Hughes wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Zegarra has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.  
Zegarra lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  He continues the combination and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Zegarra is looking to keep his distance and lands two jab's to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Zegarra pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.

Zegarra sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Hughes throws a left hook, but Zegarra clinches his opponent.  Zegarra uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Hughes behind the head. Zegarra leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Zegarra lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a right hook to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Hughes's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Hughes's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Zegarra sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Zegarra lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Zegarra holds on to his opponent.  Zegarra leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Zegarra lands a cross, jab and a cross to his opponents head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
Hughes now seems to have his senses back.  
Zegarra steps inside.  Zegarra pivots to the right of his opponent and lands a left hook.  
Zegarra lowers his guard, attempting to draw a lead.  Hughes is on target with a jab to his opponents body.  
Zegarra is looking to close the distance and hits home with a sharp left hook.  Zegarra holds on to his opponent.  Zegarra leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Zegarra sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Hughes throws a right hook, but Zegarra holds on to his opponent.  Zegarra pushes his forearm into Hughes's face.  The referee warns Zegarra and breaks the clinch.  
Zegarra pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Zegarra steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Zegarra lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Zegarra lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Hughes almost instantly recovers. 
Zegarra lands a right hook, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents body.

Zegarra lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head.  Zegarra throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Zegarra sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a potent right hook to his opponents body.  HUGHES IS HURT!  
Zegarra knows Hughes is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Zegarra lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body, KNOCKING HUGHES DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  Hughes now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Hughes's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Zegarra is on target with a weighty right uppercut to his opponents body.  HUGHES IS HURT!  Zegarra clinches his opponent.  Zegarra uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Hughes's kidney. The referee breaks up the clinch and lectures Zegarra to stop holding.  Zegarra wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Hughes dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Zegarra pivots to the left of his opponent.  Zegarra attempts to land a right hook, but Hughes blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Zegarra is looking to force the stoppage!  Zegarra lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND DROPS HUGHES!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  It looks like Hughes has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.

Hughes pivots to the side of his opponent.  Zegarra lands a double jab to his opponents head.  He then lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Hughes is looking to close the distance.  Hughes sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Zegarra lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Zegarra pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Hughes steps to the outside.  The right shot from Zegarra could be enough to force the stoppage!  Zegarra lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head, KNOCKING HUGHES DOWN!  He tries to rise but his legs dont respond...the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Zegarra!
