Franchot Corneille vs Ross Marques

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Ivory Coast-Lagunes promoted show at Abidjan Dewaere, Abidjan,  taking place on 16/01/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Ivory Coast Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on RTI Sport TV, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Franchot Corneille (15 - 10(2)) who hails from Abidjan, Ivory Coast and Ross Marques(29(24) - 7(5)) from Abobo, Ivory Coast.  Corneille weighed in at 167 pounds and 6 ounces, while Marques weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Villard Diaby, and the three ringside judges are Campbell de Nerval, Antoine Deneuve and Erec Bayne.  

Round 1: 

Marques gets on the inside and digs in a sharp right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Marques throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the punch.  Marques clinches his opponent.  Marques pushes his forearm into Corneille's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Marques.  
Marques steps inside and walks his opponent down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Marques lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Corneille throws a right uppercut, but Marques holds on to his opponent.  Marques tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Corneille behind the head. The referee warns Marques and breaks the clinch.  
Marques lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Marques holds on to his opponent.  Marques leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Marques lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Marques walks Corneille into a corner.  Marques digs in a stinging left uppercut to Corneille's liver.  
Corneille throws a left hook, but Marques ties up his opponent.  Marques leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Marques's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Marques walks his opponent into the blue corner.  Marques lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Marques digs in a stinging left hook to Corneille's liver.  
Marques lands a left uppercut.  
Marques closes the distance and digs in a sharp right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Marques drives a stinging right hook into Corneille's ribs.  
Corneille is looking to keep the action on the outside and attempts to land a jab, but Marques slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Marques gets on the inside and lands three consecutive right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Marques closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Corneille could be stopped here, if Marques can find the right shot!  Marques lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right uppercut to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.  It looks like Corneille has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Corneille tries to step out of his opponents range.  Marques lands a sharp cross.  
Marques steps inside and forces Corneille to back into the ropes.  Marques connects with a sharp right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Corneille's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Corneille's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Corneille's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Corneille is looking to keep the action on the outside and is on target with an overhand left.  
Marques advances into close range and attempts to land a left hook, but Corneille blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Marques closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Marques throws a right uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Corneille steps to the outside.  Marques feints a jab, fooling Corneille into throwing a right hook counter.  Marques is waiting for the shot and counters with a sharp right hook.  
Marques steps inside and lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body, AND DROPS CORNEILLE!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Corneille quickly recovers. 
Marques lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Marques lands a left uppercut.  
Marques sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Marques lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Marques ties up his opponent.  Marques leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  Marques tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Marques drives a forceful right hook into Corneille's body.  CORNEILLE IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
Marques thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put Corneille away.  Marques slams a DESTRUCTIVE left uppercut into Corneille's body.  CORNEILLE IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  THE REF DOES NOT GIVE CORNEILLE THE CHANCE TO BEAT THE COUNT...HE'S STOPPING THE FIGHT!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Marques!
