Joshua Mullen vs Jay Baillie

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Revel Fulton Market, Chicago,  taking place on 27/02/2043:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Joshua Mullen (5(1) - 0) who hails from Minneapolis, USA and Jay Baillie(0 - 0) from San Antonio, USA.  Both Mullen and Baillie weighed in at 175 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Gregor Ivers, and the three ringside judges are Sam Touch, Ewan Humphries and Ben Massie.  

Round 1: 

Mullen lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Mullen drives a stinging left hook into Baillie's liver.  
Mullen drives a sharp right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
Mullen drives a solid left hook into his opponents body.  
Baillie finds the target with a stinging jab.  
Mullen steps inside and throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Mullen lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  Mullen holds on to his opponent.  Baillie leans on his opponent using all his weight. Mullen pushes his forearm into Baillie's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Mullen to stop fouling.  
Baillie quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Mullen is on target with a left hook to Baillie's body.  Mullen ties up his opponent.  Mullen leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Mullen's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Mullen lands a cross.  
Mullen digs in a firm left hook to his opponents body.  
Baillie quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Mullen hits home with a firm cross.  
Mullen closes the distance and connects with a sharp left uppercut.  Mullen clinches his opponent.  Mullen is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Baillie is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Baillie.  
Mullen tries to land a right hook, but Baillie dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Baillie drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Mullen sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a sharp right uppercut into Baillie's body.  BAILLIE WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Baillie recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Baillie digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Mullen is looking to close the distance and digs in a left hook to Baillie's ribs.  
Mullen is on target with a sharp left hook to Baillie's liver.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Baillie's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.

Round 2: 

Mullen digs in a right hook to Baillie's body.  
Mullen forces Baillie to retreat into the corner.  Mullen attempts to land a right uppercut, but Baillie parries the shot and counters with a left hook to Mullen's liver.  
Baillie throws a right hook, but Mullen ties up his opponent.  Mullen is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Mullen uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Baillie's kidney. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Baillie throws a left uppercut, but Mullen holds on to his opponent.  Baillie leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Mullen advances into close range.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Mullen dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Mullen is on target with a left hook to Baillie's ribs.  
Mullen lands a left uppercut followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Mullen gets on the inside.  Mullen pivots to the right of his opponent and crashes a nasty right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  IT LOOKS LIKE BAILLIE WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Mullen senses Baillie is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Mullen lands a left uppercut to the body, a right uppercut to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  He then lands a left uppercut to the body, a right uppercut to the body and a cross to the head.  It looks like Baillie has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Baillie tries to keep the action at long range.  Mullen sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Baillie throws a cross, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Baillie throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a sharp right uppercut.  
Baillie tries to step out of his opponents range.  Mullen is on target with a stiff jab.  Mullen tries to land a jab, but Baillie sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Baillie attempts to land a cross, but Mullen slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Mullen is looking to close the distance and drives a solid left hook into Baillie's liver.  
Mullen digs in a right uppercut to his opponents ribcage.  
Mullen digs in a firm right hook to Baillie's ribs.  
Mullen lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Baillie switches the action to the outside and throws an overhand left, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a sharp right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Mullen steps inside and whips in a spiteful left uppercut to Baillie's ribs.  IT LOOKS LIKE BAILLIE WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Mullen attempts to land a left hook, but Baillie blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  Baillie quickly recovers. 
Mullen gets on the inside and manouvers Baillie onto the ropes.  Mullen drives a right uppercut into Baillie's body.  
Mullen connects with a right hook.  
Baillie throws a right hook, but Mullen holds on to his opponent.  Baillie leans on his opponent using all his weight. Mullen is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Mullen's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Baillie's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Baillie throws a right uppercut, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Mullen ties up his opponent.  Mullen is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Mullen uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Baillie's kidney. The ref breaks Mullen's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Mullen walks Baillie down, trapping him in the blue corner.  Mullen drives a firm left hook into his opponents body.  
Mullen lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND KNOCKS BAILLIE DOWN!  He manages to get up at 8.  Baillie recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Mullen gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Mullen lands a right hook followed by a cross to his opponents head, AND SENDS BAILLIE TO THE CANVAS!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Mullen!
