Ronan MacClelland vs Matt Jones

Boxing Daily Report from the Plunder Boxing promoted show at Emirates Arena, Glasgow,  taking place on 16/02/2043:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Ronan MacClelland (8(4) - 0) who hails from Swords, Ireland and Matt Jones(6 - 2 - 1) from Coventry, UK.  Both MacClelland and Jones weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Peter Cullen, and the three ringside judges are Anton Adam, William Owen and Marcus McConachie.  

Round 1: 

MacClelland lands a straight 1 - 2.  
MacClelland lands a double jab to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a cross to the head, a jab to the head and a jab to the body.  
MacClelland feints a left, and then hits home with a sharp jab.  MacClelland attempts to land a cross, but Jones sidesteps and counters with a left hook to his opponents body.  
MacClelland steps inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He then lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
MacClelland is looking to keep his distance.  MacClelland sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  MacClelland lands a right uppercut, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut, right hook and a left uppercut to his opponents body.  It looks like Jones has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
MacClelland advances into close range and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
MacClelland lands a ramrod jab.  
Jones sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  MacClelland lands a right hook to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
MacClelland lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
MacClelland drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Jones throws a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
MacClelland closes the distance and digs in a solid left hook to Jones's body.  MacClelland ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, MacClelland pushes his forearm into Jones's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures MacClelland about fouling.  
Jones sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  MacClelland is on target with a jab.  
MacClelland gets on the inside and lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  MacClelland holds on to his opponent.  MacClelland leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
MacClelland is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands with a ramrod jab.  
Jones is on target with a left uppercut.  
MacClelland switches the action to the outside.  MacClelland feints a jab, fooling Jones into throwing a left uppercut counter.  MacClelland avoids the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
MacClelland is looking to keep his distance and connects with a solid cross.  
Jones forces MacClelland to back into the ropes.  MacClelland lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
MacClelland steps inside and lands three consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  
MacClelland tries to keep the action at long range and lands a hard jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Jones's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Jones's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

MacClelland closes the distance.  MacClelland pivots to the side of his opponent and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
MacClelland lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Jones finds the target with a jab.  
MacClelland tries to step out of his opponents range and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.
