Anthony Ryan vs Dominique Mechelen

Boxing Daily Report from the Plunder Boxing promoted show at Stade Joseph Marien, Brussels,  taking place on 23/02/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Anthony Ryan (13(12) - 0) who hails from Cork, Ireland and Dominique Mechelen(3 - 14(1)) from Bruges, Belgium.  Both Ryan and Mechelen weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Similien Voisin, and the three ringside judges are Beau Filipacchi, Orane Boyer and Alain Jobert.  

Round 1: 

Ryan steps inside and digs in a firm right hook to Mechelen's ribs.  
Mechelen tries to keep the action at long range.  Ryan lands an overhand left followed by  two straights to his opponents head.  
Ryan feints a right, and then lands a cross to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Ryan gets on the inside and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Ryan is on target with a jab.  
Ryan gets on the inside and connects with a left uppercut.  
Ryan lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body.  Ryan ties up his opponent.  Ryan pushes his forearm into Mechelen's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Mechelen steps to the outside.  Ryan connects with an overhand right.  
Ryan advances into close range.  Mechelen throws a right hook, but Ryan ties up his opponent.  Ryan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Ryan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Ryan throws a left hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Ryan ties up his opponent.  Ryan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Ryan feints a jab, tricking Mechelen into throwing a left hook counter.  Ryan springs the trap and counters with  a left hook to his opponents body.  
Mechelen pivots to the left of his opponent.  Ryan lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Ryan lands a jab to the head, a left hook to the body and a jab to the head.  
Ryan gets on the inside and is on target with a right hook to Mechelen's body.  Ryan tries to land a right hook, but Mechelen parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Ryan closes the distance.  Ryan sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Ryan is on target with a sharp right uppercut.  Ryan ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Ryan pushes his forearm into Mechelen's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Ryan to stop fouling.  
Ryan lands a cross.  
Ryan steps inside and crashes a nasty right hook to Mechelen's ribcage.  IT LOOKS LIKE MECHELEN WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Ryan is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Ryan lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND SENDS MECHELEN SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  Mechelen now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Ryan advances into close range.  Ryan pivots to the left of his opponent.  Mechelen throws a right hook, but Ryan clinches his opponent.  Ryan is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Ryan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Ryan manages to force Mechelen onto the ropes.  Ryan sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Mechelen throws a right hook, but Ryan ties up his opponent.  Ryan is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Ryan tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Mechelen's kidney. 
Mechelen steps away from his opponent.  Ryan lands a jab to the head followed by a cross to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Mechelen almost instantly recovers. 
Ryan closes the distance.  Mechelen throws a left hook, but Ryan ties up his opponent.  Ryan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Ryan lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Ryan lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Ryan hits home with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mechelen's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Mechelen's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.

Ryan lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Mechelen almost instantly recovers. 
Ryan is looking to close the distance.  Mechelen throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid left hook.

Ryan lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Mechelen recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Ryan steps inside and lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head, AND SENDS MECHELEN SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He tries to rise but his legs dont respond...the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Ryan!
