Ahmed Mahdavi vs Abdul Salem

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Malaysia-Selangor promoted show at Petaling Jaya Aly, Petaling Jaya,  taking place on 28/02/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Malaysia-Selangor Minimumweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ahmed Mahdavi (12 - 15(3) - 1) who hails from Petaling Jaya, Malaysia and Abdul Salem(5(3) - 1 - 1) from Shah Alam, Malaysia.  Both Mahdavi and Salem weighed in at 105 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sajid Bari, and the three ringside judges are Bilal Ramin, Malik Azimi and Sajid Bari.  

Round 1: 

Salem hits home with a sharp cross.  
Salem steps inside and throws a right hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Salem clinches his opponent.  Salem is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Salem.  
Salem lands a solid left hook.  Salem holds on to his opponent.  Salem leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Salem's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Salem walks his opponent into a neutral corner.  Salem digs in a solid left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
Salem digs in a sharp left uppercut to Mahdavi's body.  
Salem sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Salem is on target with a left hook to his opponents liver.  Salem clinches his opponent.  Salem pushes his forearm into Mahdavi's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Salem.  Mahdavi wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Salem dabs at his face checking for damage.

Salem is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Salem lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents body, KNOCKING MAHDAVI DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Mahdavi now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Salem throws a right uppercut, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.

Salem sidesteps to the left of his opponent and connects with a solid left uppercut.  
Salem lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Salem lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  Salem clinches his opponent.  Salem leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Salem tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Mahdavi behind the head. The ref breaks Salem's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Salem lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Salem holds on to his opponent.  Salem is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Salem gets on the inside.  Mahdavi throws a left hook, but Salem ties up his opponent.  Salem leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Salem's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Salem lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  Salem holds on to his opponent.  Salem throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee warns Salem and breaks the clinch.

Salem manouvers Mahdavi into the corner.  Salem lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body, AND MAHDAVI IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mahdavi's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Mahdavi's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Mahdavi's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

He continues the combination and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a left uppercut to the body, AND MAHDAVI IS DOWN!  The ref waves off the fight.  He does not believe Mahdavi can continue!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Salem!
