Davie Ford vs Joshua Liddell

Boxing Daily Report from the Badoe Promotions promoted show at Oliver Dinwoodie Gym, Indianapolis,  taking place on 06/03/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Indiana Super Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Davie Ford (3 - 5) who hails from Indianapolis, USA and Joshua Liddell(7 - 11 - 1) from Fort Wayne, USA.  Both Ford and Liddell weighed in at 115 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Sam Skilling, and the three ringside judges are Zach Greenway, Joseph Nicolson and Tobias Gowans.  

Round 1: 

Liddell voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Ford accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Liddell.  
Ford is looking to close the distance and is on target with a left hook.  
Liddell connects with a right uppercut.  
Liddell lands a jab to Ford's body.  
Ford closes the distance and drives a right hook into Liddell's body.  
Liddell steps away from his opponent and is on target with a cross.  
Ford feints a jab, tricking Liddell into throwing a left hook counter.  Ford springs the trap, countering with  a right uppercut.  
Ford steps inside.  Ford connects with a left uppercut.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Ford dabs at his face checking for damage.  Ford has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Liddell's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.
