James Groat vs Mark Rae

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Jamaica-Saint Andrew promoted show at New Kingston Lemmond, New Kingston,  taking place on 27/03/2043:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Jamaica-Saint Andrew Super Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are James Groat (21(8) - 7(4) - 1) who hails from New Kingston, Jamaica and Mark Rae(3 - 6(1)) from New Kingston, Jamaica.  Both Groat and Rae weighed in at 122 pounds.  
The referee tonight is David Leith, and the three ringside judges are David Leith, Ricky Hewson and Ricky Hewson.  

Round 1: 

Groat steps inside.  Rae attempts to land a left hook, but Groat sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Groat lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Groat steps inside and hits home with a left hook.  Groat clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Groat pushes his forearm into Rae's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Groat about fouling.  
Groat throws a left hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Groat holds on to his opponent.  Groat leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Groat walks Rae down, trapping him in the corner.  Groat pivots to the side of his opponent.  Rae tries to land a right hook, but Groat parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Groat lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  He continues the combination and lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Groat ties up his opponent.  Rae is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Groat's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Rae throws a left hook, but Groat clinches his opponent.  Groat leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Groat lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Groat connects with a right hook.  
Rae tries to keep the action at long range.  Groat connects with an overhand left.  
Groat steps inside and lands a left uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Rae quickly recovers. 
Groat lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body, DROPPING RAE TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 6.  
Groat knows Rae is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Groat whips in a mean right hook to his opponents ribs.  RAE HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  It looks like Rae has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Groat manages to force Rae onto the ropes.  Groat pivots to the right of his opponent and drives a firm right hook into Rae's ribs.  
Groat lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Groat holds on to his opponent.  Groat leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Rae steps to the outside.  Groat connects with a cross.  
Groat closes the distance.  Groat sidesteps to the right of his opponent and drives a right uppercut into Rae's body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Rae's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Rae's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Rae's trainer is advising how he could stop so many clean shots getting through.

Groat steps inside and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Rae recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Groat is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Rae switches the action to the outside and throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Groat advances into close range and lands a right uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body.  
Groat advances into close range and cuts off the ring, trapping Rae in a corner.  Groat lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Groat quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the head, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Groat lands a left hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Groat is on target with a left hook to Rae's body.

Groat is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Groat lands three consecutive right uppercuts to his opponents body, AND SENDS RAE TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Rae now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Groat lands a right uppercut to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the body.  
Groat digs in a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Groat is on target with a left uppercut to Rae's body.  
Groat lands a left uppercut.  
Groat lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.

He continues the combination and lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body, AND DOWN GOES RAE!  He manages to get up at 4.  It looks like Rae has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Groat lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND DROPS RAE!  He fails to beat the count!  The winner by KO is Groat!
