Patrick Flanagan vs Neil Walsh

Boxing Daily Report from the HONEYPUNCH promoted show at The O2, Dublin,  taking place on 09/05/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Irish Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on RET One, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Patrick Flanagan (35(24) - 8(7) - 1) who hails from Drogheda, Ireland and Neil Walsh(7 - 9(4) - 3) from Dublin, Ireland.  Flanagan weighed in at 107 pounds and 11 ounces, while Walsh weighed in at 108 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Michael Corcoran, and the three ringside judges are Clinton MacAdam, Charlie Brisbane and Lorcan Coleman.  

Round 1: 

Flanagan lands a jab.

Flanagan drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Walsh tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Flanagan drops his hands, and waves his opponent in.  Walsh tries to land a left hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a solid left uppercut.  
Flanagan steps inside and digs in a sharp right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  Flanagan holds on to his opponent.  Flanagan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Flanagan advances into close range and throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Flanagan lands a stinging jab.  
Flanagan advances into close range and lands two right hook's to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Flanagan is on target with a spiteful jab.  
Walsh walks Flanagan down, trapping him on the ropes.  Walsh lands a jab.  
Walsh pivots to the left of his opponent.  Walsh tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Flanagan steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Flanagan advances into close range and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND DROPS WALSH!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
Walsh now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Walsh is looking to close the distance.  Flanagan lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Flanagan is on target with a solid right hook to Walsh's body.  
Flanagan closes the distance.  Flanagan pivots to the right of his opponent.  Flanagan lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.  Flanagan holds on to his opponent.  Flanagan tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Walsh behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Flanagan about fouling.  
Flanagan gets on the inside and lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Flanagan steps to the outside and lands a jab.  
Flanagan lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Flanagan clinches his opponent.  Flanagan is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Flanagan lands a spiteful left hook.  WALSH IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  It looks like Walsh has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
Flanagan lands a right hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the body, KNOCKING WALSH DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
It looks like Walsh has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Walsh's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Walsh's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Flanagan manouvers his opponent into a corner.  Flanagan is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents ribs.  Flanagan ties up his opponent.  Flanagan is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Flanagan.  
Flanagan lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Flanagan drives a sharp right hook into Walsh's body.  
Flanagan tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a jab followed by  two overhand rights to his opponents head.  
Flanagan switches the action to the outside.  Flanagan feints a jab, and then lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  
Walsh gets on the inside.  Flanagan drives a firm left hook into his opponents body.  
Flanagan closes the distance and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Flanagan is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Flanagan lands three consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body, AND WALSH IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  It looks like Walsh has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.

Flanagan connects with a HUGE left hook.  WALSH HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  
Flanagan switches the action to the outside and lands a cross followed by  two overhand rights to his opponents head, AND SENDS WALSH TO THE CANVAS!  The ref waves off the fight.  He does not believe Walsh can continue!  The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Flanagan!
