Fumio Ohara vs Goro Iida

Boxing Daily Report from the Jely Pr. promoted show at IMP Hall, Osaka,  taking place on 28/04/2043:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan-Osaka Welterweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Fumio Ohara (13(7) - 1(1)) who hails from Osaka, Japan and Goro Iida(12 - 8(3) - 2) from Toyonaka, Japan.  Both Ohara and Iida weighed in at 147 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Hisao Sakai, and the three ringside judges are Aoi Ohno, Naoki Koyama and Mitsuru Kanai.  

Round 1: 

Ohara is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Ohara feints a jab, tricking Iida into launching a left hook counter.  Ohara springs the trap and counters with  a left hook.  
Ohara tries to keep the action at long range and hits the target with a hard jab.  
Ohara steps to the outside and lands with a solid jab.  
Ohara tries to step out of his opponents range.  Ohara feints a left hook, and then lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Iida gets on the inside.  Ohara sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Iida throws a right hook, but Ohara ties up his opponent.  Ohara is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Ohara about fouling.  
Ohara switches the action to the outside and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  Ohara throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook to Ohara's body.  
Ohara lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Ohara lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Ohara finds the target with a ramrod jab.  
Iida manouvers Ohara onto the ropes.  Iida quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Ohara connects with a solid cross.  
Ohara lands two jabs followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Iida lands a right hook.  
Iida gets on the inside.  Ohara is on target with a sharp right hook to his opponents body.  
Ohara lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Ohara steps to the outside and hits home with a firm overhand left.  
Iida gets on the inside and walks his opponent into the corner.  Iida pivots to the left of his opponent.  Ohara hits home with a solid right uppercut.  
Ohara is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Iida steps inside.  Ohara sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Ohara lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Ohara holds on to his opponent.  Ohara leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Ohara switches the action to the outside and connects with a cross.  
Ohara lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Iida closes the distance.  Ohara lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Ohara is looking to keep his distance and attempts to land a cross, but Iida sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Iida advances into close range.  Ohara pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a sharp right hook.  
Ohara tries to step out of his opponents range and is on target with a stinging overhand right.  
Ohara lands a jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Iida's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Iida steps inside.  Ohara is on target with a stinging left hook.  Ohara holds on to his opponent.  The ref breaks Ohara's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Iida quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Iida tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a firm left hook.  
Iida gets on the inside.  Ohara hits home with a left hook.  
Ohara tries to step out of his opponents range and lands a stinging overhand left.  
Ohara feints a right hook, and then connects with a sharp overhand right.  Ohara tries to land a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Iida gets on the inside.  Ohara pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right hook to Iida's ribcage.  
Iida hits home with a cross.  
Iida closes the distance.  Ohara pivots from in front of his opponent.  Ohara tries to land a right uppercut, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Ohara is looking to keep his distance and lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Ohara lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Ohara tries to step out of his opponents range and lands two consecutive overhand lefts to his opponents head.  
Ohara lands a cross, jab and a cross to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Ohara knows Iida is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Ohara lands a BRUTAL cross.  IIDA IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Iida now seems to have got his legs back.  
Iida steps inside.  Ohara drives a right hook into Iida's body.  
Iida walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Ohara lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Ohara steps away from his opponent.  Ohara quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and hits home with a sharp cross.  
Ohara lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Iida advances into close range.  Ohara pivots to the left of his opponent.  Ohara connects with a firm left hook.  Ohara ties up his opponent.  Ohara is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Ohara is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a solid jab.  
Ohara hits home with a cross.  
Ohara feints a right hook, and then lands a cross, jab and a cross to his opponents head.  
Ohara feints a left hook, and then is on target with a powerful right uppercut.  IT LOOKS LIKE IIDA WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Iida's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.

Ohara is on target with a firm cross.  
Ohara feints a left, and then lands two straights followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Iida strikes his opponents body with a cross.  Iida throws a right uppercut, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Ohara steps to the outside.  Ohara feints a cross, and then hits home with an overhand left.  
Ohara finds the target with a jab.  
Ohara lands an overhand left followed by a jab to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Iida recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Ohara steps to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Ohara lands a jab to the body, an overhand right to the head and a cross to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Iida almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Iida gets on the inside.  Ohara lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head, KNOCKING IIDA DOWN!  He tries to rise but his legs dont respond...the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Ohara!
