Greg Cowden vs Zachary Hewitt

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Target Field, Minneapolis,  taking place on 27/06/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the North American Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on HBO, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Greg Cowden (27(12) - 2(1)) who hails from Cedar Rapids, USA and Zachary Hewitt(16(2) - 4(1)) from Dallas, USA.  Both Cowden and Hewitt weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is David Scholar, and the three ringside judges are Nathan Langer, Harry Streblow and James Dapp.  

Round 1: 

Cowden gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  Cowden holds on to his opponent.  Hewitt pushes his forearm into Cowden's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Hewitt.  
Cowden closes the distance.  Cowden connects with a left hook.  As Cowden tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Hewitt dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Cowden walks Hewitt into the corner.  Cowden connects with a left hook.  
Cowden lands a right hook.  
Hewitt is looking to keep his distance and throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Hewitt switches the action to the outside and lands two consecutive overhand lefts to his opponents head.  He then lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Cowden closes the distance.  Cowden sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Hewitt attempts to land a right hook, but Cowden sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Hewitt steps away from his opponent.  Hewitt feints a cross, and then connects with an overhand right.  Hewitt throws a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  
Cowden feints a jab, but Hewitt ignores the feint and responds with a stinging left uppercut.  
Hewitt hits home with a stinging overhand left.  Hewitt tries to land a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Hewitt connects with a cross.  
Cowden steps inside and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Hewitt tries to step out of his opponents range.  Hewitt sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Cowden lands a cross to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Cowden throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Cowden gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Cowden attempts to land a cross, but Hewitt sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Hewitt steps to the outside.  Cowden is on target with a sharp cross.  
Cowden is looking to close the distance.  Hewitt tries to land a right hook, but Cowden sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Cowden steps inside.  Cowden sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Cowden lands a stinging left uppercut.  Cowden holds on to his opponent.  Cowden is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Cowden to stop fouling.  
Cowden is on target with a firm left hook.  
Cowden sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Hewitt is on target with a stinging left hook.  Cowden holds on to his opponent.  Cowden leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Hewitt steps to the outside.  Cowden sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Hewitt attempts to land a jab, but Cowden slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Cowden advances into close range and walks Hewitt down, trapping him in a corner.  Cowden lands a right hook, left hook and a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Cowden drives a left uppercut into his opponents body.  
Cowden lands a right hook to the body, a right uppercut to the body and a left hook to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Hewitt's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Cowden sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Cowden tries to land a left uppercut, but Hewitt blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Cowden lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Hewitt is looking to keep his distance.  Cowden connects with a cross.  
Cowden is looking to close the distance and digs in a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Cowden feints a right, and then lands a FEROCIOUS cross.  HEWITT WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Cowden steps inside.  Hewitt could be stopped here, if Cowden can find the right shot!  Cowden EXPLODES a spiteful cross into his opponents face.  HEWITT IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 5.  
Cowden lands a right hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a right uppercut, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents head, DROPPING HEWITT TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  Hewitt now appears to have recovered from that earlier shot.  
Cowden manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Cowden sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Hewitt digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  Cowden ties up his opponent.  Hewitt leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Cowden quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Cowden lands a stinging right uppercut.  Cowden tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Cowden lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Cowden stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  Cowden lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head, KNOCKING HEWITT DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Hewitt now seems to have his senses back.  
Hewitt switches the action to the outside.  Cowden lands with a hard jab.  
Cowden advances into close range and connects with a firm right hook.  
Cowden lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Hewitt almost instantly recovers. 
Cowden lands a jab followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Hewitt steps to the outside and lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Hewitt switches the action to the outside and is on target with an overhand right.  
Cowden gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Cowden hits home with a firm right hook.  
Hewitt lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Cowden lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Hewitt attempts to land a jab, but Cowden sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.

Hewitt tries to step out of his opponents range and tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a mean right hook.  IT LOOKS LIKE HEWITT WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Hewitt quickly recovers. 
Cowden steps inside and lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Cowden lands a stinging left hook.  
Hewitt throws a left hook, but Cowden clinches his opponent.  Cowden is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.
