Danny Griffith vs Joel Mundy

Boxing Daily Report from the Ognjen promoted show at Civic Auditorium, San Jose,  taking place on 03/06/2043:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Danny Griffith (17(13) - 1(1)) who hails from Nashville, USA and Joel Mundy(31 - 18(5) - 1) from Athens, USA.  Both Griffith and Mundy weighed in at 130 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ricky Kinnon, and the three ringside judges are Alen Pryor, Leon Corona and Malcolm Mayorga.  

Round 1: 

Griffith is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents liver.  
Griffith gets on the inside and cuts off the ring, trapping Mundy in a neutral corner.  Griffith tries to land a right hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
Griffith lands a right hook to the body followed by a jab to the head.  
Griffith closes the distance and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Mundy switches the action to the outside.  Griffith lands an overhand left followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Griffith attempts to land a right hook, but Mundy slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Griffith steps inside and connects with a firm left uppercut.  
Mundy feints a left hook, and then tries to land a jab, but Griffith sidesteps and counters with a stinging right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Mundy forces Griffith to retreat onto the ropes.  Mundy pivots to the left of his opponent.  Griffith hits home with a firm left hook.  
Griffith pivots to the left of his opponent and connects with a mean left hook.  IT LOOKS LIKE MUNDY WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  Mundy recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Griffith is on target with a sharp right uppercut to his opponents body.  Griffith tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Griffith manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Griffith drives a right hook into Mundy's body.  
Griffith lands a right uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Griffith drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Griffith digs in a sharp right hook to Mundy's ribs.  
Mundy tries to land a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Griffith drives a sharp left hook into Mundy's ribs.  
Mundy throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a sharp right uppercut.  
Mundy walks Griffith onto the ropes.  Mundy pivots to the right of his opponent.  Griffith digs in a right hook to his opponents body.  
Griffith advances into close range and lands a right uppercut to the head, a right hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mundy's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Mundy's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Mundy tries to step out of his opponents range.  Mundy quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Griffith lands a cross.  
Griffith lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Griffith throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the punch.  Griffith holds on to his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Griffith sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Griffith tries to land a left hook, but Mundy blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Griffith throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a stinging right uppercut.  
Griffith lands a right hook, left uppercut and a left hook to his opponents body.  
Griffith tries to land a jab, but Mundy sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Mundy pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to Griffith's body.

Griffith quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Mundy recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Griffith gets on the inside and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND KNOCKS MUNDY DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  Mundy quickly recovers. 
Mundy is looking to keep his distance.  Griffith hits home with a cross.

Griffith is on target with a right uppercut to Mundy's body.  
Griffith gets on the inside and forces Mundy to retreat onto the ropes.  Griffith quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and digs in a right hook to Mundy's body.  
Mundy pivots to the side of his opponent.  Griffith hits home with a cross.  
Griffith sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a jab to the head.

Mundy switches the action to the outside.  Griffith lands a straight 1 - 2, AND MUNDY IS DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  
Mundy steps away from his opponent and lands a cross.  
Griffith advances into close range.  Mundy attempts to land a left hook, but Griffith slips the shot and counters with a stinging cross.  
Griffith closes the distance.  Mundy pivots from in front of his opponent.  Griffith lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
The right shot from Griffith could be enough to force the stoppage!  Griffith drives a telling left uppercut into Mundy's liver.  MUNDY HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  It looks like Mundy has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Griffith walks Mundy into a neutral corner.  Griffith lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Griffith lands a left uppercut to the head followed by two right hook's to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Griffith sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Griffith lands a cross followed by a right hook to his opponents head, KNOCKING MUNDY DOWN!  The ref does not give Mundy the chance to beat the count...The fight has been stopped!  The winner by TKO is Griffith!
