Dave McCormick vs Ovidio Alvizo

Boxing Daily Report from the High Stake Promtions promoted show at Glynn Coll Gym, Jersey City,  taking place on 06/06/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the USA-New Jersey Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Dave McCormick (5 - 5) who hails from Newark, USA and Ovidio Alvizo(34(10) - 5(1) - 1) from Newark, USA.  McCormick weighed in at 159 pounds and 11 ounces, while Alvizo weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Ewan McLoughlin, and the three ringside judges are Ian Leaper, Paul Paletta and Lee Bowell.  

Round 1: 

McCormick tries to step out of his opponents range and connects with an overhand right.  
Alvizo gets on the inside.  Alvizo leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  McCormick accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Alvizo.  
Alvizo lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Alvizo is looking to close the distance and digs in a right hook to McCormick's body.  
Alvizo lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Alvizo lands a left hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Alvizo lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head, AND SENDS MCCORMICK SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Alvizo connects with a cross.  
McCormick is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands a jab.

Alvizo gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McCormick's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  McCormick's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  McCormick's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

McCormick quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  McCormick attempts to land a jab, but Alvizo blocks the shot and counters with a stinging left uppercut.  
Alvizo gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  
The right shot from Alvizo could be enough to force the stoppage!  Alvizo lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body, AND SENDS MCCORMICK TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  McCormick now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.
