Charlie Russell vs Matthew Carew

Boxing Daily Report from the Namugerwa Promotions promoted show at Oliver Benichou Gym, Edmonton,  taking place on 19/06/2043:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Canada-Alberta Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Charlie Russell (6 - 12(1) - 2) who hails from Edmonton, Canada and Matthew Carew(9(1) - 1(1)) from Calgary, Canada.  Russell weighed in at 160 pounds, while Carew weighed in at 160 pounds and 8 ounces.    As Carew came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Charlie Ainsley, and the three ringside judges are Clint Craig, Dylan Humiston and John Haddow.  

Round 1: 

Carew steps inside and lands a left uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body.  
Russell quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Carew lands with a ramrod jab.  
Russell steps away from his opponent and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Carew is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents body.  
Carew closes the distance and forces Russell to retreat into the red corner.  Carew drives a right hook into his opponents body.  As Russell tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Carew dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Carew hits home with a right hook.  
Carew lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.

Carew gets on the inside and is on target with a left uppercut.

Carew forces Russell to back into a corner.  Carew lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Carew closes the distance.  Russell throws a right uppercut, but Carew clinches his opponent.  Carew is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Russell switches the action to the outside.  Carew throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut.
