Ivan Matos vs Hilario Molinar

Boxing Daily Report from the fresh start promoted show at Camaguey Peno, Camaguey,  taking place on 22/06/2043:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Cuba-Camaguey Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ivan Matos (22(8) - 3(2)) who hails from Camaguey, Cuba and Hilario Molinar(7 - 5(2) - 3) from Camaguey, Cuba.  Both Matos and Molinar weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Rodrigo Diaz, and the three ringside judges are Reyes Correa, Reyes Correa and Hilario Camejo.  

Round 1: 

Matos steps inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Matos holds on to his opponent.  Molinar is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Matos is on target with a BRUTAL left hook.  MOLINAR IS HURT!  Matos ties up his opponent.  Molinar is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  Matos attempts to land a right hook, but Molinar sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut to Matos's body.  Molinar recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Molinar tries to step out of his opponents range.  Matos is on target with a sharp cross.  
Molinar steps to the outside.  Matos is on target with a jab.  
Matos sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Matos connects with a cross.  Matos tries to land a cross, but Molinar sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Matos closes the distance.  Matos sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Molinar throws a right hook, but Matos clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Matos pushes his forearm into Molinar's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Matos about fouling.  
Matos lands a firm right uppercut.  
Matos lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  
Matos gets on the inside and drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Matos manouvers Molinar into the corner.  Matos lands a right hook to the head, a right uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Matos lands a left uppercut to the body, a left hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Molinar throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Matos sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a stinging right hook.  
Matos lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Matos pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a sharp left uppercut.  
Matos lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Matos sidesteps to the right of his opponent and hits home with a sharp left uppercut.  
Matos digs in a sharp left hook to his opponents body.  
Matos lands a right hook, left hook and a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Matos lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Matos manouvers his opponent into the corner.  Matos connects with a firm right hook.  Matos clinches his opponent.  Matos leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Matos lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Matos sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Matos is looking to close the distance and drives a solid right hook into his opponents body.  
Matos lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  Matos clinches his opponent.  Matos leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Matos throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  Molinar almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Molinar steps to the outside.  Matos lands two consecutive overhand rights to his opponents head.  
Matos steps inside and throws a right hook, but his opponent steps away from the punch.  Matos holds on to his opponent.  Matos leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Matos's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Molinar's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Molinar's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.

Molinar is looking to keep his distance.  Matos lands a sharp jab.  
Matos walks his opponent into the corner.  Matos is on target with a weighty left uppercut.  MOLINAR WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Matos tries to land a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a cross.  Molinar almost instantly gets his legs back. 
Matos hits home with a right hook.  
Matos sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Matos sees his opponent is hurt.  He's looking for the finish!  Matos lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a left uppercut, right hook and a left hook to his opponents head, AND MOLINAR IS DOWN!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Matos!
