Mikio Shiba vs Mikio Kumagai

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Japan-Saitama promoted show at Ace Boxing Gym, Saitama,  taking place on 05/07/2043:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the Japan-Saitama Light Heavyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Mikio Shiba (9 - 6 - 2) who hails from Saitama, Japan and Mikio Kumagai(7 - 1 - 1) from Kawagoe, Japan.  Shiba weighed in at 175 pounds, while Kumagai weighed in at 175 pounds And 12 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Takeshi Fuse, and the three ringside judges are Daiki Kurihara, Ichiro Miyazaki and Naoki Tengan.  

Round 1: 

Shiba steps to the outside and is on target with a jab.  
Shiba lands a cross to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Shiba switches the action to the outside and hits home with an overhand right.  
Kumagai pivots to the right of his opponent.  Shiba hits home with a left hook.  
Shiba steps to the outside and attempts to land a jab, but Kumagai blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Shiba connects with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Kumagai's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Kumagai's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.

Kumagai lands a right uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Kumagai gets on the inside.  Shiba pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  As Kumagai tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Shiba has taken some damage from that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.
