Alain Gayet vs Sammy Fairlie

Boxing Daily Report from the Basemera Promotions promoted show at Gaineau Noel, Gaineau,  taking place on 21/07/2043:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Canada-Quebec Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Alain Gayet (24(18) - 5(3)) who hails from Montreal, Canada and Sammy Fairlie(3 - 8(2) - 2) from Quebec City, Canada.  Both Gayet and Fairlie weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Dunlap, and the three ringside judges are Mark Mostyn, James Mabon and Donatien Auteuil.  

Round 1: 

Gayet lands a solid left hook.  Gayet clinches his opponent.  Gayet leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks Gayet's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Gayet lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Gayet ties up his opponent.  Gayet is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Gayet.

Gayet throws a right hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Gayet ties up his opponent.  Gayet leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Gayet throws a right hook, but his opponent avoids the punch.  Gayet clinches his opponent.  Gayet uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Fairlie behind the head. Gayet is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks Gayet's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Gayet lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Fairlie throws a right hook, but Gayet ties up his opponent.  Gayet uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Fairlie's kidney. 
Gayet connects with a left hook.  
Fairlie advances into close range.  Gayet lands a left hook.  
Fairlie sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Fairlie tries to land a right uppercut, but Gayet sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Gayet digs in a left uppercut to Fairlie's liver.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Fairlie's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Fairlie's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Fairlie's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Gayet throws a left hook, but his opponent avoids the punch with a sidestep.  Gayet ties up his opponent.  Gayet tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Fairlie behind the head. 
Gayet lands a cross, left uppercut and a cross to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
Gayet closes the distance.  Gayet knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  Gayet is on target with a HUGE left uppercut.  FAIRLIE HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 4.  
Gayet EXPLODES a hurtful left uppercut into his opponents face.  FAIRLIE IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Fairlie now seems to have got his legs back.  
Gayet lands a left hook.  
Gayet gets on the inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Gayet lands a left hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Gayet steps inside and lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head, AND DROPS FAIRLIE TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 4.  
Gayet lands a cross to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Fairlie throws a left uppercut, but Gayet ties up his opponent.  Gayet leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Gayet's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Gayet lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Gayet lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  
Gayet is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Gayet lands a left hook, right hook and a cross to his opponents head, AND FAIRLIE IS DOWN!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Gayet!
