Yves Piat vs David Carson

Boxing Daily Report from the GAT Management promoted show at Indianapolis Weatherhead, Indianapolis,  taking place on 07/07/2043:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Yves Piat (8(2) - 0) who hails from Montreal, Canada and David Carson(6 - 1(1)) from Dallas, USA.  Both Piat and Carson weighed in at 200 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Chris Philley, and the three ringside judges are Noel Housler, Bart Fyfe and Mike Watterson.  

Round 1: 

Piat sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a sharp jab to his opponents body.  
Piat hits home with a cross.  
Piat is on target with a right hook.  Piat throws a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Carson feints a cross, and then hits home with a cross.  
Carson feints a left, and then hits home with a right uppercut.

Carson throws a left hook, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a solid left hook.

Piat tries to keep the action at long range.  Piat feints a left hook, and then lands a jab.  
Carson gets on the inside.  Piat lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Piat clinches his opponent.  Piat leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Piat uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Carson's kidney. The ref separates the two fighters.

As they grapple, Piat pushes his forearm into Carson's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Piat about fouling.  
Carson manouvers Piat onto the ropes.  Carson hits home with a cross.  
Carson closes the distance.  Piat hits home with a left hook.  
Piat is looking to keep the action on the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Piat steps to the outside.  Carson sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Piat lands with a ramrod jab.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Carson's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  Carson's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.
